Kara Wolters
Kara Elizabeth Wolters (born August 15, 1975) is an American former collegiate and professional basketball player and a current sports broadcaster. Standing at and nicknamed "Big Girl," she is the tallest player in University of Connecticut women's basketball history and one of the tallest women to ever play in the WNBA. During her playing career, she was an NCAA national champion (1995), FIBA world champion (1998), WNBA champion (1999), and Olympic champion (2000) becoming one of 11 women with those accolades. She also won AP College Player of the Year in 1997 Following her professional playing career, Wolters moved into broadcasting. Fort Wolters
Fort Wolters was a United States military installation four miles northeast of Mineral Wells, Texas. The fort was originally named Camp Wolters in honor of Brigadier General Jacob F. Wolters, commander of the 56th Cavalry Brigade of the National Guard, which used the area as a summer training ground. It was an Army camp from 1925 until 1946. During World War II, Camp Wolters was at one time the largest infantry replacement training center in the United States. It was commanded by Major General Bruce Magruder. Camp Wolters also served as a German POW camp during the war. Two of the most famous enlisted infantrymen of the war underwent basic training at Camp Wolters: *Audie Murphy completed basic training at Camp Wolters. Anthony John Wolters (born June 9, 1992) is an American former professional baseball catcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Colorado Rockies, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Playing career Cleveland Indians Wolters was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the third round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft out of Rancho Buena Vista High School in Vista, California. He signed with Cleveland, forgoing his commitment to play college baseball at the University of San Diego. Prior to the 2013 season he was moved from an infielder to catcher. Reinder Albertus Wolters (March 17, 1844 – January 3, 1917) was a professional baseball player from Nieuweschans, Netherlands. He played five seasons in the amateur National Association of Base Ball Players from 1866 to 1870, and three seasons in its professional successor, the National Association from 1871 to 1873. Rudolf Wolters
Rudolf Wolters (3 August 1903 – 7 January 1983) was a German architect and government official, known for his longtime association with fellow architect and Nazi Germany, Third Reich official Albert Speer. A friend and subordinate of Speer, Wolters received the many papers which were smuggled out of Spandau Prison for Speer while he was imprisoned there, and kept them for him until Speer was released in 1966. After Speer's release, the friendship slowly collapsed, Wolters objecting strongly to Speer's blaming of Adolf Hitler, Hitler and other Nazis for the Holocaust and World War II, and they saw nothing of each other in the decade before Speer's death in 1981.
