"Without Me" is a song by American singer Halsey, released on October 4, 2018. Halsey wrote the song with Brittany Amaradio, Amy Allen, and Louis Bell, while production was handled by Bell. It interpolates Justin Timberlake's " Cry Me a River" with Timberlake, Timbaland and Scott Storch credited as co-writers. It was released through Capitol Records as the lead single from Halsey's third studio album, ''Manic (Halsey album), Manic''. "Without Me" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100, becoming Halsey's first number-one single as a lead artist, and her second overall, following her feature on the Chainsmokers' song "Closer (The Chainsmokers song), Closer" in 2016. The MTV MIAW Awards (formerly known as the MTV Millennial Awards) are annual Latin American music awards presented by the cable network MTV Latin America to honor the best in Latin music and youth internet culture. Winners receive a statuette of a cat, in reference to cat memes as a symbol of interne culture. The ceremony has been held in Mexico City since its first edition on July 16, 2013. "Closer" is a song by American DJ duo the Chainsmokers featuring American singer Halsey. Halsey duets with Chainsmokers member Andrew Taggart, who had never provided lead vocals on a song before (although he provided background vocals for "Roses"). It was released on July 29, 2016, through Disruptor Records and Columbia Records. The song was written by Taggart, Halsey, Shaun Frank, Freddy Kennett, Isaac Slade and Joe King. Halsey's vocals were produced by DJ Swivel, while the main song production was handled by the Chainsmokers as usual. Musically, it is a future bass and electropop song with a " retro" style synthesizer in the chorus.
