''With the Wild Crowd! Live in Athens, GA'' is the first official live album and DVD release by American new wave band the B-52s. The concert was recorded on February 18, 2011, at The Classic Center in the band's hometown of Athens, Georgia, commemorating the 34th anniversary of their first performance as a group on February 14, 1977. The audio recording was released on October 10, 2011, on CD and iTunes by Eagle Records, while a DVD and Blu-ray release followed on March 20, 2012, by Eagle Records' parent company, Eagle Rock Entertainment. The B-52s
The B-52s, originally presented as the B-52's (with an errant grocer's apostrophe, apostrophe; used until 2008), are an American band formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1976. The original lineup consisted of Fred Schneider (vocals, percussion), Kate Pierson (vocals, keyboards, synth bass), Cindy Wilson (vocals, percussion), Ricky Wilson (guitarist), Ricky Wilson (guitar, vocals), and Keith Strickland (drums, guitar, keyboards, vocals). Ricky Wilson died of AIDS-related illness in 1985, and Strickland permanently switched from drums to lead guitar. The band has also added various members for albums and live performances. Cindy Wilson
Cynthia Leigh Wilson (born February 28, 1957) is an American musician and one of the vocalists, songwriters and founding members of New wave music, new wave rock band the B-52s. She is noted for her distinctive contralto voice and also plays percussion during live shows. She is the younger sister of the late guitarist Ricky Wilson (guitarist), Ricky Wilson (1953–1985), who was also a founding member of the band. In addition to her work with the B-52's, Wilson has released two solo extended play, EPs, ''Sunrise'' (2016) and ''Supernatural'' (2017). In late 2017, she released her debut solo album, ''Change (Cindy Wilson album), Change'', via the independent label Kill Rock Stars. Party Out Of Bounds
"Party Out of Bounds" is a song by American new wave band the B-52's, from their second album, ''Wild Planet'' (1980). Featured with the other dancefloor-bound tracks from the album, the song peaked at number five on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Club Play chart in 1980 as an album cut and has long been a staple of alternative/new wave dance club playlists. Lyrically, the song is a guide on how to better plan house parties in order to prevent potential disasters. An instrumental dub mix was included on the B-side of the vinyl 45 rpm single "Private Idaho". The following year, another mix of "Party Out of Bounds" appeared on the B-52's' '' Party Mix!'' Jeremy Ayers
Jeremy Ayers (1948 – October 24, 2016) was an American artist, writer, photographer, and musician. A member of the Athens, Georgia, creative community, Ayers was a Warhol superstar under the name Sylva Thinn early in his career and wrote a column for Andy Warhol's ''Interview'' magazine. He published three books of photography, and co-wrote songs for the B-52's and R.E.M. In 2021, a newly discovered species of ant ('' Strumigenys ayersthey'') was named in his honor. ''Cosmic Thing'' is the fifth studio album by American New wave music, new wave band the B-52's, released in 1989 by Reprise Records.
