John Thome (American Football)
John D. Thome (January 8, 1942 – November 4, 2011) was an American football and baseball coach. He served as the head football coach at Lakeland College—known now as Lakeland University—in Plymouth, Wisconsin from 1967 to 1980, compiling a record of 77–54–2. Thome was also the head baseball coach at Lakeland in 1972 and from 1977 to 1980. Thome was born on January 8, 1942, in Port Washington, Wisconsin, to Rosalia Horn Thome and Wilfred N. Thome. He graduated from Port Washington High School in 1960 and attended Oshkosh State College—now known as the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh—where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. Eber Simpson
Eber Edward Simpson (July 24, 1895 – December 19, 1964) was an American football, basketball and baseball player, football coach, and physician. He attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he starred in football, basketball, and baseball. He also played college football at Washington University in St. Louis, from which he earned a medical degree. Simpson played football professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for the St. Louis All-Stars in 1923. He practiced medicine in St. Louis for 35 years before retiring in 1955. Martin Paul Below (January 26, 1899 – June 30, 1984) was an American football player. NCAA Division III
NCAA Division III (D-III) is a division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. D-III consists of athletic programs at colleges and universities that choose not to offer athletic scholarships to their student-athletes. The NCAA's first split was into two divisions, the University and College Divisions, in 1956, the College Division was formed for smaller schools that did not have the resources of the major athletic programs across the country.
