Wisconsin–Stout Blue Devils Football
The Wisconsin–Stout Blue Devils football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of Wisconsin–Stout located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The team competes at the NCAA Division III level as a member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The Blue Devils play home games at Don and Nona Williams Stadium in Menomonie, Wisconsin. The stadium opened in 2001 and seats 4,500 people. The team's head coach is Clayt Birmingham, who has served in that position in 2010. Ed Meierkort (born March 24, 1959) is an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at the University of Wisconsin–Stout from 1993 to 2003 and University of South Dakota from 2004 to 2011, compiling a career college football coaching record of 108–89. The STEN (or Sten gun) is a British submachine gun chambered in 9×19mm which was used extensively by British and Commonwealth forces throughout World War II and during the Korean War. The Sten paired a simple design with a low production cost, facilitating mass production to meet the demand for submachine guns. As well as equipping regular units, the Sten was distributed to resistance groups within occupied Europe. Its simple design made it an effective insurgency weapon for resistance groups. The Sten is a select fire, blowback-operated weapon with a side-mounted magazine. Sten is an acronym, derived from the names of the weapon's chief designers: Major Reginald V. Shepherd and Harold J. Jack Wink
Jack S. Wink (August 3, 1922 – September 16, 1995) was an American football player and coach. He played college football at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (1942, 1946–1947) and University of Michigan (1943). He served in the United States Marine Corps during both World War II and the Korean War. He later served as a teacher and coach at Wayne State College, University of Wisconsin–Stout, and St. Cloud State University. Early years Wink was born in 1922 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was the son of Elmer and Jane (Florscyzk) Wink. His father was a city fireman. Wink attended Milwaukee Boys Tech High School. Playing career Wink attended the University of Wisconsin and played quarterback for the 1942 Wisconsin Badgers football team. Tony Storti
Anthony Wayne Storti (June 19, 1922 – January 23, 2009) was an American college football player and coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Stout Institute—now known as the University of Wisconsin–Stout–from 1948 to 1951 and two stints at Montana State University, from 1952 to 1954 and from 1956 to 1957, compiling a career head coaching record of 52–21–3. Storti was also the athletic director at Montana state from 1952 to 1958. He led the 1956 Montana State Bobcats to a tie in the NAIA football national championship and a share of the NAIA national title. Biography A native of Eveleth, Minnesota, Storti served in the United States Army during World War II and attended the University of Wisconsin–Stout and the University of Delaware.
