Erlenbach () is a Municipalities of Switzerland, municipality in the district of Meilen (district), Meilen in the Cantons of Switzerland, canton of Zurich (canton), Zürich in Switzerland. History Erlenbach is first mentioned in 981 as ''Liber Heremi'' though this identification is questionable. Between 1173-90 it was mentioned as ''Erlibach''. Archeological digs have shown that there were settlements in Erlenbach more than 5,000 years ago. During Ancient Rome, Roman times an important road passed through what is now Erlenbach. The Alemanni settled in this village in the 6th century. In 981 the name ''Erlibach'' was first mentioned when the monastery of Einsiedeln Abbey, Einsiedeln acquired the land. Around 1400 the city of Zürich bought the land. Two castles ''Balp'' and ''Dachsberg'' are mentioned in old writings, but there is no evidence left. Zürich Seebach is a railway station in the Seebach quarter of the Swiss city of Zürich. It is located on the Wettingen–Effretikon railway line (Furttal line). Infrastructure The station is aligned on a west to east axis, and has two through platform tracks serving a single island platform, together with a number of non-platform through tracks and sidings. The platform is accessed at its eastern end by a subway, and at its western end by an access to the centre of the adjacent level crossing. The platform has no roof, but there is a shelter near the subway. To the west the Furttal line continues as a dual track railway towards . To the east the line splits into two single track lines, one curving south to join the Oerlikon–Bülach line towards (used by passenger trains) whilst the other joins the same line heading northbound. The S16 is a regional railway service of the S-Bahn Zürich on the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV), Zürich transportation network, and is one of the network's services providing service within the canton of Zürich. Meilen Railway Station
Meilen is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Zürich, situated in the municipality of Meilen. The station is located on the Lake Zürich right bank railway line. History The station was opened in 1893, at the same time as the Lake Zürich right bank line. In 1903, Meilen station became the interchange point with the Wetzikon-Meilen-Bahn (WMB), a newly built metre gauge electric tramway that served the Zürcher Oberland area inland from the lake. The WMB originally ran beyond Meilen station, to terminate at the lakeside, but this section closed in 1931 leaving the station as the line's terminus. The WMB closed in 1950.
