Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (also known as version 1709 and codenamed "Redstone 3") is the fourth major update to Windows 10 and the third in a series of updates under the Redstone codenames. It carries the build number 10.0.16299. PC version history The first preview was released to Insiders on April 7, 2017. The final release was made available to Windows Insiders on September 26, 2017, before being released to the public on October 17. This is the first version to introduce Pro for Workstation edition in its installation and it is only available in 64-bit (x86-64). The update has reached end of service on April 9, 2019 for Home, Pro, Pro Education, Pro for Workstations, and IoT Core editions. The Enterprise and Education editions would have originally reached end of service on April 14, 2020, but this was postponed to October 13 of the same year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The update has reached end of service on October 9, 2018 in the Semi-Annual Channel. The Enterprise and Education editions have reached end of service on October 8, 2019. Support of this update on Surface Hub devices was available until March 16, 2021. Universal Windows Platform Apps
Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps (formerly named Windows Store apps, Metro-style apps and Modern apps) are applications that can be used across all compatible Microsoft Windows devices. They are primarily purchased and downloaded via the Microsoft Store, Microsoft's digital application storefront. UWP was deprecated in October 2021. Windows Console is a GUI application for running console applications in Windows. Phone Link, previously Your Phone, is a syncing software developed by Microsoft to connect Windows PCs to Android and iOS mobile devices to view notifications, make phone calls, use mobile apps amongst others, via the PC. It is a native component of Windows 10 (since version 1809) and Windows 11, where it is a UWP app and consists of a driver that communicates with the Link to Windows app on the mobile device. Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) is a discontinued platform by Microsoft which provides augmented reality and virtual reality experiences with compatible head-mounted displays. Windows Calculator
Windows Calculator is a software calculator developed by Microsoft and included in Windows. In its Windows 10 incarnation it has four modes: standard, scientific, programmer, and a graphing mode. The standard mode includes a number pad and buttons for performing arithmetic operations. The scientific mode takes this a step further and adds exponents and trigonometric function, and programmer mode allows the user to perform operations related to computer programming. An input method (or input method editor, commonly abbreviated IME) is an operating system component or program that enables users to generate characters not natively available on their input devices by using sequences of characters (or mouse operations) that are available to them. Using an input method is usually necessary for languages that have more graphemes than there are keys on the keyboard.
