William O'Connor (darts Player)
William James O'Connor (born 15 July 1986) is an Irish professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He reached his first major semi-final at the 2022 UK Open. O'Connor won his first ranking title at 2019 PDC Players Championship 13. He has finished as the runner-up in two PDC European Tour events. O'Connor has represented Ireland at the PDC World Cup of Darts. He reached the final at the 2019 edition, alongside Steve Lennon. Career O'Connor first came to prominence at the 2010 UK Open when he whitewashed Stuart Monaghan in the first round 6–0 in legs. He then defeated Mark Frost and Peter Wright to reach the fourth round, where he played world number 3 James Wade on the main board and lost 9–3. 2025 PDC World Masters
The 2025 PDC World Masters (known for sponsorship reasons as the 2025 Winmau World Masters) was a professional darts tournament that took place at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, England, from 30 January to 2 February 2025. It was the 13th PDC World Masters, Masters to be organised by the Professional Darts Corporation and the first under the World Masters rebrand. It was the first time the tournament was ranked and was using Set (darts), set play. Stephen Bunting was the defending champion after beating Michael van Gerwen 11–7 in the 2024 Masters (darts), 2024 final. However, he lost 4–3 to Danny Noppert in the quarter-finals. Mark Frost (born 23 October 1971) is an English former professional darts player from Stoke-on-Trent. He played in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events and used the nickname Frosty The Throw Man for his matches. In sport, a whitewash or sweep is a series in which a person or team wins every game, or when a player or team wins a match to-nil. 2010 UK Open
The 2010 Rileys Darts Zones UK Open was the eighth year of the PDC darts tournament where, following numerous regional qualifying heats throughout Britain, players competed in a single elimination tournament to be crowned champion. The tournament was held at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, England, from 3–6 June 2010, and had the nickname, "the FA Cup of darts" as a random draw was staged after each round until the final. It was eventually won by Phil Taylor who defeated Scotland's Gary Anderson 11–5 to make it his fourth UK Open and second consecutive championship. Earlier in the tournament, Anderson was the on the wrong side of a nine-dart finish from Mervyn King. In the fourth round of this tournament, Phil Taylor beat Kevin Painter 9–0 with a 3–dart average of 118.66, which at the time was the all-time highest 3–dart average for a televised darts match. Steve Lennon
Steve Lennon (born 25 November 1993) is an Irish professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Nicknamed "Scuba Steve", he reached his first major quarter-final at the 2018 Players Championship Finals. He finished as the runner-up at the 2018 Dutch Darts Masters on the PDC European Tour. Lennon has represented Ireland at the PDC World Cup of Darts. He reached the final at the 2019 edition, alongside William O'Connor. Career Lennon played county darts for Kilkenny and Kildare. The 2019 BetVictor World Cup of Darts was the ninth edition of the PDC World Cup of Darts. It took place from 6–9 June 2019 at the Barclaycard Arena (Hamburg), Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany. PDC European Tour
The PDC European Tour is a series of darts tournaments held across Europe organized by the Professional Darts Corporation. Starting in 2012 with five events, the number of events has steadily risen with eight held in 2013 and 2014, nine in 2015, 10 in 2016, 12 in 2017, 13 in both 2018 and 2019. There were 13 scheduled in 2020 (although that was reduced to four, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic). Only two events took place in 2021, with a return to 13 events in 2022, 2023 and 2024, then 14 in 2025. These events see the top players on the PDC Order of Merit and PDC ProTour Order of Merit compete against players from a tour card holder qualifier and three different regional qualifiers. Currently the prize fund for each tournament is £175,000, with £30,000 going to the winner.
