William Lamont Smith (born January 13, 1992) is a former American football linebacker. He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL draft. He played college football at Texas Tech University. Early life Smith attended Notre Dame High School, where he competed in football, basketball and ran track. He received honorable-mention All-county honors in both football and basketball. College career He began his college career playing football at the NCAA Division II level at Northwood University. The 2013 Texas Tech Red Raiders football team represented Texas Tech University in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season as members of the Big 12 Conference.
