White pride and white power are expressions primarily used by white separatist, white nationalist, fascist, neo-Nazi, and white supremacist organizations in order to signal racist or racialist viewpoints. It is also a slogan used by the prominent post–Ku Klux Klan group Stormfront and a term used to make racist/racialist viewpoints more palatable to the general public who may associate historical abuses with the terms ''white nationalist'', ''neo-Nazi'', and ''white supremacist''. Some advocates of white power have been committed to overthrowing the United States government and establishing a white ethnostate using paramilitary tactics. George Lincoln Rockwell
George Lincoln Rockwell (March 9, 1918 – August 25, 1967) was an American neo-Nazi activist who founded the American Nazi Party (ANP) and became one of the most notorious white supremacists in the United States until his murder in 1967. His beliefs, strategies, and writings have continued to influence many white supremacists and neo-Nazis. Rockwell coined the expression White Power, which was also the title of his posthumously published political manifesto. Born in Bloomington, Illinois, to two vaudeville performers, Rockwell briefly studied philosophy at Brown University before dropping out to join the United States Navy, Navy. He trained as a pilot and served in World War II and the Korean War in non-combat roles, achieving the rank of Commander.
