When The Cat's Away (1996 Film)
''When the Cat's Away'' () is a 1996 French drama directed by Cédric Klapisch. The movie is set in Paris and stars Garance Clavel, Zinedine Soualem, Renée Le Calm, Olivier Py, Romain Duris, Hélène de Fougerolles, Hiam Abbass and others. Plot The story is about a young woman living in Paris, in the Bastille neighborhood, who has lost her cat. Through the pursuit of the cat, the film lets the spectator discover the contrasts of the district, which is evolving from a typical Parisian district to a modern and young district and the contrast between its inhabitants, among them a nice simpleton and the old woman who are bored. Cédric Klapisch
Cédric Klapisch ( ; born 4 September 1961) is a French film director, screenwriter and producer. Life and career Klapisch was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine. He is from a Jewish family; his maternal grandparents were deported to Auschwitz. He studied cinema at the University of Paris III: Sorbonne Nouvelle as well as at the University of Paris VIII. He was rejected on two occasions by the French film school Institut des hautes études cinématographiques (IDHEC), now known as La Fémis. He later attended the film school at New York University from 1983 to 1985. During the 1980s, he started to shoot short films such as ''In transit'' or ''Ce qui me meut''. He subsequently worked as a scriptwriter and he became a director for feature films. He has also directed a nature documentary for French television. CQMD Is a heavy funk band from France using amplified 1930's brass band instruments. CQMD are the initials for Ceux Qui Marchent Debout and is the band's name outside its national territory. Biography Created in 1992 by Superclark, producer of Malka Family and founder of Patate Records, "Bart" and "Androuze", trumpet and trombone player of "La Marabunta", and Roufi, sousaphone player in Boula Matari. The band was originally called ''Les Fils de Crao'' playing mostly in alternative venues and bars of the Paris area. Because another band has the same name they switched to "Ceux qui marchent debout", a name that makes direct reference to the comic's character Rahan. Eriq Ebouaney (born 3 October 1967) is a French actor.
