The men's singles wheelchair tennis competition at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens was held from 19 September to 26 September at the Athens Olympic Tennis Centre. Netherlands at the 2004 Summer Paralympics, The Netherlands' Robin Ammerlaan defeated the defending gold medalist David Hall (Australian tennis), David Hall of Australia at the 2004 Summer Paralympics, Australia in the final, 6–2, 6–1 to win the gold medal in men's singles wheelchair tennis at the 2004 Athens Paralympics. In the bronze medal match, France at the 2004 Paralympics, France's Michaël Jérémiasz defeated the United States at the 2004 Summer Paralympics, United States' Stephen Welch. is a Japanese pioneering wheelchair tennis player and 2004 Summer Paralympics gold medalist ( Men's doubles with Shingo Kunieda). Jayant Mistry (born 29 August 1966) is a retired British wheelchair tennis player of Indian descent who competed in international level events. He is a former British no.1 player in the singles and a former World no. 2 in the men's doubles. He competed at four Paralympic Games and was a semifinalist in the men's doubles at the 2000 Summer Paralympics. Ben Weekes (born 20 September 1984) is an Australian wheelchair tennis player. He competed at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, his sixth Games. Personal Weekes was born on 20 September 1984 in Strathfield, New South Wales. He has an identical twin brother, and two other brothers. He is an incomplete paraplegic as a result of a blood clot forming in his spine when he was thirteen years old. He is a composer and pianist, having received formal training in this area. His music has been recorded and he has played at the BarMe Cabaret Bar, Angel Place and the Sydney Opera House. Other sports he participates in are swimming and basketball. Weekes is openly gay.
