Wendy's Championship For Children
The Wendy's Championship for Children was an annual golf tournament for professional female golfers on the LPGA Tour from 1999 through 2006 in the Columbus, Ohio area. The tournament was played at the New Albany Country Club in New Albany, Ohio from 1999 to 2001. In 2002, it moved to Tartan Fields Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. Proceeds from the event benefited pediatric cancer research and treatment at the Columbus Children's Hospital. From 2000 to 2005, over $2.7 million was raised. On August 31, 2006, corporate sponsor Wendy's announced that its relationship with the tournament had come to an end as a result of a disagreement between the corporation and the LPGA over future dates of the event. Hee-Won Han
Han Hee-won (; born 10 June 1978) is a retired South Korean professional golfer on the LPGA Tour. She was a member of the LPGA Tour from 2001 until her retirement in 2014 and won six LPGA Tour events during her career. She attended Ryukoku University and turned professional in 1998. In 1998 she competed on the LPGA of Korea Tour and the LPGA of Japan Tour, claiming Rookie of the Year honours in Japan. In 1999 she won twice in Japan. She qualified for the U.S.-based LPGA Tour at the 2000 Qualifying School and has played mainly in the United States since 2001. She was Rookie of the Year in her first season. Annika Charlotta Sörenstam (; born 9 October 1970) is a Swedish professional golfer regarded as one of the best female golfers in history. Lorie Kane
Lorie Kane, (born December 19, 1964, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada) is a professional golfer on the LPGA Tour. She began her career on the LPGA Tour in 1996 and has four career victories and 99 top-10 finishes on the tour. She won the Bobbie Rosenfeld Award in 2000 and became a member of the Order of Canada at a ceremony in December 2006. Kane was the second Canadian to have multiple wins on the LPGA circuit in one season, in 2000, after Sandra Post performed the feat twice, in 1978 and 1979. The next person to do so was Brooke Henderson, in 2016. In 2015, she was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. Wendy Ward (born May 6, 1973) is an American professional golfer who played on the LPGA Tour. Early life, education and amateur career Ward was born in San Antonio, Texas. She attended Arizona State University where she had a successful National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) career. She was a two-time Honda Sports Award winner, a three-time first team All-American, the Pac-10 Champion in 1993 and 1995 and led ASU to team titles in 1993, 1994 and 1995.
