Weightlifting At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's 64 Kg
The women's 64 kg weightlifting competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place on 27 July at the Tokyo International Forum. Maude Charron won the gold, with a combined lift of 236 kg. The bouquets were presented by International Weightlifting Federation, IWF Interim President Dr. Michael Irani (Great Britain), and the medals were presented by List of members of the International Olympic Committee, IOC Member Stefan Holm (Olympic Champion in athletics, Sweden). The is a multi-purpose exhibition center in Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. The complex is generally considered to be in the Yūrakuchō business district, being adjacent to Yūrakuchō Station, but it is administratively in the Marunouchi district. The weightlifting competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place from 24 July to 4 August 2021 at the Tokyo International Forum. Competition schedule Qualification The number of weightlifters at these Games was reduced to 196, down from 260 in the 2016 Summer Olympics. Career A native of Carreta, Cebu City, Ando became part of the Philippine national weightlifting team after she was scouted by coaches Garry Toleno and former olympian Ramon Solis when she was still a junior high school student at the University of Cebu (UC). As a result, UC then granted her a collegiate scholarship.
