"We Won't Give In" is a song by the British rock band Slade, released in 1987 as the fourth and final single from their fourteenth studio album '' You Boyz Make Big Noize''. The song was written by lead vocalist Noddy Holder and bassist Jim Lea, and produced by Lea. It failed to reach the UK Top 100, reaching No. 121. Background Slade began writing and recording material for their ''You Boyz Make Big Noize'' album in 1986. That year, "We Won't Give In" was recorded for inclusion on the soundtrack of the 1986 film ''Knights and Emeralds'', along with another Slade song "Wild Wild Party". Although the film company had hoped to release the song as a single, RCA refused to give them permission to do so. The song was included on ''You Boyz Make Big Noize'', which was released in 1987. John Punter
John Punter (born 27 January 1949) is a former English record producer and recording engineer. He has worked with many bands and musicians, such as Japan, Procol Harum, Roxy Music, Doctors of Madness, Sad Café and Slade. His career in music spanned over 30 years and many different genres. He is now retired from the entertainment business, and ran a small bar in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. On July 24, 2019, he became a citizen of Canada. Dave Hill
David John Hill (born 4 April 1946) is an English rock musician. He is the lead guitarist, a backing vocalist and the sole continuous member in the English band Slade. Hill is known for his flamboyant stage clothes and hairstyle. Early life Born in Flete House, Holbeton, Devon, the son of a mechanic, he moved with his parents to Penn, Wolverhampton, when he was a year old. He attended the city's Springdale Junior School and Highfields Secondary school. He bought his first guitar from a mail-order catalogue and received some guitar lessons from a science teacher at his school. He then formed a band called The Young Ones with some school friends. He worked in an office for Tarmac Limited for over two years after leaving school. ''You Boyz Make Big Noize'' is the fourteenth and final studio album by the British rock group Slade. It was released on 27 April 1987 and reached No. 98 in the UK charts. The album was largely produced by bassist Jim Lea, although some tracks were produced by John Punter and Roy Thomas Baker. It was the last studio album by the original lineup, prior to their split in 1992. The US version of the album, which was released on the CBS label, replaced "Fools Go Crazy" with the title track "You Boyz Make Big Noize", which did not appear on the UK/European versions of the original album. Background Following Slade's decision to stop touring in 1984, the band continued to record new material. The 1985 album ''Rogues Gallery'' had been a hit across Europe but saw only limited success in the UK and US.
