''We Are Family'' is a 2010 Indian Hindi-language family drama film directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar and Karan Johar under Dharma Productions. It was co-produced and distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment and UTV Motion Pictures. An official Indian adaptation of the 1998 American film '' Stepmom'', the film stars Kajol, Kareena Kapoor, and Arjun Rampal in lead roles. Initially scheduled for release on 10 September 2010, the film was advanced to 3 September to avoid clashing with ''Dabangg'' (2010). We Are Family (WAF) is a nonprofit organization providing support and resources to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and intersex (LGBTQI) youth in the Charleston, South Carolina area. History WAF was founded in 1995 in Charleston by Tom Myers as a support group for gay youth after his son came out as gay. This organization makes a large effort in the community to provide a safe place for the LGBTQI homeless. In 2017 the group was granted $3,000 to study the incidence of homelessness in LGBTQI+ youth in the Greater Charleston area. Melissa Moore, former executive director of WAF in 2018, opened a day center for homeless at 529 Meeting St. in what was previously a Head Start facility. Jeff & Sheri Easter are a Southern gospel group led by the husband and wife duo of the same name. Career Jeff Easter and Sheri Williamson met in August 1984 during the Albert E. Brumley Sundown to Sunup Gospel Sing in Arkansas. At the time, Jeff was the bassist for the Singing Americans, while Sheri was performing with The Lewis Family. After being introduced, they married ten months later, June 1985. After that, Jeff and Sheri traveled and performed as part of The Lewis Family, until they decided to pursue a career alone in 1988. Since that, they have released several albums and have been nominated for various awards. Joining them on stage are their children: Madison (guitars) and Morgan (vocals).
