Wave Tag Team Championship
The Wave Tag Team Championship is a professional wrestling tag team championship owned by the Pro Wrestling Wave promotion. The title is nicknamed "Dual Shock Wave". The championship was first announced on August 28, 2011, at Wave's fourth anniversary event, and the first champions were crowned on October 30, when kanAyu (Ayumi Kurihara and Kana) defeated Uematsu☆Ran (Ran Yu-Yu and Toshie Uematsu) to win the Dual Shock Wave 2011 tournament and become the inaugural champions. From 2009 to 2010, Wave had promoted matches for the TLW World Young Women's Tag Team Championship, but this was the first title officially created and owned by the promotion. Though primarily contested for by female wrestlers, one male team, Yankii Nichokenju (Isami Kodaka and Yuko Miyamoto), has also held the title. Mio Shirai
is a Japanese professional wrestling referee and semi-retired professional wrestler. She started her career in March 2007, working alongside her sister Io Shirai on the Japanese independent circuit for promotions such as Ice Ribbon, JWP Joshi Puroresu and Pro Wrestling Wave. In June 2010, the Shirais came together with fellow freelancer Kana to form the Triple Tails stable as part of which they began working most notably for Smash. After Io left the stable the following year, Mio and Kana continued working together as the tag team Triple Tails.S. better known by her ring name Gami (stylized in capital letters as GAMI) is a Japanese retired professional wrestler best known for her tenure with the Japanese promotions Pro Wrestling Wave, Arsion and JWP Joshi Puroresu. Tomoka Nakagawa
is a Japanese retired professional wrestler. After being trained by Taka Michinoku, she started her career in his Kaientai Dojo promotion in September 2004. After leaving Kaientai Dojo in 2007, Nakagawa briefly joined Ibuki, where she underwent further training under Mariko Yoshida, before becoming a freelancer and starting to work on the Japanese independent circuit for promotions such as Oz Academy and Pro Wrestling Wave. Isami Kodaka
is a Japanese professional wrestler, currently signed to Pro-Wrestling Basara (Basara). He originally started his career in the Kaientai Dojo (K-Dojo) promotion in July 2002, but later left the promotion to become a freelancer, before signing with Union Pro Wrestling (Union Pro) in 2005. Through Union Pro's working relationship, Kodaka also began working for Big Japan Pro Wrestling (BJW), where he adopted his current, hardcore wrestling-based style. Kodaka remained affiliated with Union Pro until the promotion folded in October 2015, after which he became a founding member of Pro-Wrestling Basara (Basara). Dual Shock Wave
__NOTOC__ Dual Shock Wave is an annual professional wrestling tag team tournament promoted by the Pro Wrestling Wave promotion. It has been held since 2011 and takes place between early September and mid-November. The first tournament, held in a single-elimination format, was used to determine the inaugural Wave Tag Team Champions. In 2012, the tournament was changed to a round-robin format with the winners of each block advancing to the finals. In 2014, the tournament returned to single-elimination format. Toshie Uematsu
is a female Japanese retired professional wrestler best known for her popularity in the 1990s and 2000s. She was one of the members of the first class of wrestlers trained by Chigusa Nagayo when Nagayo formed the GAEA Japan promotion. Uematsu finished her career in 2012, working for the Pro Wrestling Wave promotion. After her retirement, Uematsu continued working as a trainer for Pro Wrestling Wave. Tag team wrestling is a type of professional wrestling in which matches are contested between teams of multiple wrestlers.
