Wake Forest Demon Deacons Men's Soccer
The Wake Forest University Demon Deacons men's soccer team is an NCAA Division I college soccer team composed of students attending Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. They achieved their greatest result in 2007, winning the 2007 Division I Men's College Cup. Like all sports teams from Wake Forest, men's soccer competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Deacons play their home matches at Spry Stadium on the campus of Wake Forest. History left, Wake Forest (in white) v Boston College in 2005 Wake Forest fielded its first team in 1980, under the coaching of George Kennedy. The Deacons went 12–9–1 in their first season. Bobby Muuss
Bobby Muuss is an American College soccer in the United States, college soccer coach, currently serving as head coach of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons men's soccer team. Career He played college soccer at Southern Connecticut State. He was an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut, helping UConn win the 2000 NCAA Championship. After being an assistant coach at Wake Forest from 2001 to 2006, Muuss was hired to be the head coach at Denver in January 2007. In 2007, Muuss was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation co-coach of the year, and was named the 2008 MPSF coach of the year. In 2008, Muuss lead Denver to its first-ever MPSF championship and its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1970. Marcus Tracy
Marcus Garin Tracy (born October 2, 1986, in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania) is an American soccer player who plays as a striker. Career College and amateur Although born in Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia, Tracy grew up in Newtown, CT, playing soccer at Newtown High School where he was named an All-American (and had his #3 jersey retired) and was a member of the 2004 Class LL Connecticut State Championship team. He finished with 100 goals in his high school career. Tracy also played for Beachside Soccer Club in his youth. His brother Ryan Tracy played soccer at the University of Pennsylvania. North Carolina FC is an American professional association football, soccer team in Cary, North Carolina, a suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina, Raleigh, and member of the USL Championship. Mike McGinty
Michael McGinty is an American retired soccer player who is currently an assistant coach with North Carolina FC in the USL Championship. During his career, McGinty played as a goalkeeper for various Major League Soccer teams. Playing career During his playing career, McGinty played college soccer for Wake Forest University, and was a backup goalie for various A-League and MLS teams. John Hackworth
John Hackworth (born February 5, 1970, in Dunedin, Florida) is an American soccer coach who is currently the Technical Director for St. Louis City SC of Major League Soccer. Player Hackworth graduated from Dunedin High School in his Florida hometown. He began his collegiate soccer career at Brevard College in 1988 and 1989. In 1990, he transferred to Wake Forest University where he redshirted and played in 1991 and 1992. Hackworth then played several years in the United States Development Soccer League. In 1997, his amateur team, La Correta, played against the Carolina Dynamo of the A-League in a game where Hackworth shut down the Trinidad & Tobago international Stern John. Texas State Bobcats Women's Soccer
The Texas State Bobcats are the sports teams that represent Texas State University. Currently, they compete in the Sun Belt Conference in NCAA Division I (Football Bowl Subdivision for football). The Bobcat has been the mascot of Texas State University since 1921, when the university adopted the name from the recommendation of a committee formed to raise school spirit. Though considerably smaller than mountain lions, bobcats are known for their stubborn fierceness and great courage. The football squad used the bobcat for the first time in 1921 and went undefeated with a 7–0 season. Texas State had several officially recognized live bobcat mascots until the 1970s. Steve Holeman
Steve Holeman (born December 21, 1967) is the head women's soccer coach at Texas State University, an NCAA Division I program in the Sun Belt Conference. He was named Texas State head coach on February 9, 2022. Prior to his position at Texas State, Holeman served as head coach at three Southeastern Conference universities starting the program at two of those universities. Steve Armas
Anibal "Steve" Armas (born March 2, 1977) is a retired American soccer midfielder who is a currently associate head coach for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons men's soccer program. Armas previously spent one season in Major League Soccer and several seasons in the United Soccer Leagues. He was a member of the United States U-17 men's national soccer team at the 1993 FIFA U-17 World Championship. Coaching wise he served as a head and assistant coach at Campbell University, Greensboro College and the Carolina Dynamo. Ryan Fessler (born March 8, 2001) is an American professional soccer player who plays for Sporting Kansas City II in the USL Championship via the Sporting Kansas City Academy.
