WWE Universal Championship
The WWE Universal Championship was a men's professional wrestling world heavyweight championship created and promoted by the American promotion WWE. Established in 2016, it was the third overall men's world championship created by the company, after the WWE Championship (1963) and the 2002–2013 version of the World Heavyweight Championship. From April 2022 until the title's official retirement in April 2024, it was jointly held and defended with the WWE Championship as the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but both titles maintained their individual lineages. The inaugural champion was Finn Bálor and the final recognized champion was Roman Reigns. The championship was named in honor of WWE's fanbase, referred to as the WWE Universe, and it was established on July 25, 2016, to be the top title of the Raw brand, a division of WWE's roster. WWE Raw, Raw is a WWE brand extension, brand of the American professional wrestling promotion WWE that was established on March 25, 2002. Brands are divisions of WWE's roster where wrestlers are assigned to perform on a weekly basis when a brand extension is in effect. Wrestlers assigned to Raw primarily appear on the brand's weekly television program, ''WWE Raw, Monday Night Raw'', which began in 1993, also referred to simply as ''Raw''. In Irish mythology, Balor or Balar was a leader of the Fomorians, a group of malevolent supernatural beings, and considered the most formidable. He is often described as a giant with a large eye that wreaks destruction when opened. The 2019 Crown Jewel was a professional wrestling event produced by the American company WWE. It was the second Crown Jewel and took place on October 31, 2019, at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as part of the inaugural Riyadh Season, which launched earlier that same month. The event aired via pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming and featured wrestlers from the promotion's Raw, SmackDown, and 205 Live brand divisions. SummerSlam is a professional wrestling event, produced annually since 1988 by the world's largest professional wrestling promotion, WWE. Dubbed "The Biggest Party of the Summer", it is considered WWE's second biggest event of the year behind their flagship event, WrestleMania.
