WZON
WZON (620 AM) is a radio station that is currently silent. The station is licensed to Bangor and serves Central Maine. Along with sister station 103.1 WZLO, WZON is owned by The Zone Corporation, the broadcast company owned by authors Tabitha King and her husband, best-selling horror writer Stephen King. WZON transmits with 5,000 watts, using a non-directional transmitter by day and a directional pattern at night to protect other stations on 620 kHz. WZON is one of Maine's oldest radio stations, first signing on the air in 1926 as WLBZ in Dover-Foxcroft. It moved to Bangor in 1928. The station became WACZ in 1981, and WZON after its purchase by Stephen King in 1983. King sold the station in 1990, but repurchased WZON out of bankruptcy in 1993. He closed the station and WZLO on December 31, 2024, due to ongoing financial losses; a sale of the two stations to Mix Maine Media is pending. WDNY-FM
WDXT (93.9 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a classic rock format. Licensed to Dansville, Livingston County, New York, United States. the station is owned by Genesee Media. The station is located such that the broadcast at times reaches as far north as Pittsford, New York, to the Pennsylvania border to the south. In 2003, WDXT moved from its original location at 129 Main Street to a new office and studio at 195 Main Street. The new location is within a historic Main Street building and still contains the original ornate tin ceiling. On October 28, 2011, WDXT changed hands from Miller Media Inc. to Genesee Media Corporation. WDXT is well known for its local service to the Genesee Valley, Western Finger Lakes, and Southern Tier areas of New York State. ZIP is an archive file format that supports lossless compression, lossless data compression. A ZIP file may contain one or more files or directories that may have been compressed. The ZIP file format permits a number of Data compression, compression algorithms, though DEFLATE is the most common.
