VIAS
The Vias GmbH (stylized VIAS) is a rail service company based in Frankfurt (Germany). The name of the company was taken from the Latin word via for ''way'' and the letter ''S'' for service. It operates rail services in the states of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia. Owners The company was founded in 2005 by ''Stadtwerke Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main'' (VGF, the municipal transport company of Frankfurt) and Rurtalbahn GmbH (RTB) of Düren with both companies having equal shareholdings. In March 2010, Danish State Railways announced that it had taken over VGF's shareholding with the help of its subsidiary ''DSB Deutschland GmbH''. Odenwald Railway (Hesse)
The Odenwald Railway (german: Odenwaldbahn) is a mainly single-tracked main line from Darmstadt and Hanau to Eberbach on the River Neckar, which crosses the Odenwald mountains in the German states of Hesse and Baden-Württemberg. Since 1882 the route has been operated throughout as a standard gauge line and since 2005 has been worked by diesel multiples owned by the VIAS private railway company. The line is timetable no. Groß-Umstadt Wiebelsbach Station
Groß-Umstadt Wiebelsbach station is a station on the Odenwald Railway (german: Odenwaldbahn) in the town of Groß-Umstadt in the German state of Hesse. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. The Odenwald Railway running from Eberbach branches at the station towards Darmstadt and Hanau. The station is located in the area administered by the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (Rhine-Main Transport Association, RMV). Darmstadt Nord Station
Darmstadt Nord (north) station is a junction station in the city of Darmstadt in the German state of Hesse. The passenger station, which is served by trains of the Odenwald Railway (german: Odenwaldbahn) and the Rhine-Main Railway (Rhine-Main-Bahn), has four platform tracks. Running parallel and north of the station are two additional tracks for freight traffic. Architecture The Darmstadt Nord station building was built from 1909 to 1912 as part of the realignment of the railways around Darmstadt to serve the employees of the Merck company. Pfungstadt Railway
The Pfungstadt Railway (''Pfungstadtbahn'') is a single-track branch line that branches off the Main-Neckar Railway in Darmstadt-Eberstadt and runs to a station on the eastern edge of the inner town of Pfungstadt, in Hesse, Germany. History The Pfungstadt industrialists Wilhelm Büchner (who made ultramarine fabric) and Justus Hildebrand (who owned the Pfungstadt brewery) had advocated for the construction of the line since the mid-19th century. Various alternative routes were considered, as well as a possible extension on a curve to Bickenbach, which was rejected for cost reasons. The project was discussed for 22 years from 1864. The line was finally built by the State Railways of the Grand Duchy of Hesse (''Großherzoglich Hessischen Staatseisenbahnen''). Bombardier Itino
Bombardier Itino is a diesel multiple unit manufactured by Bombardier Transportation, originally developed by Adtranz. It has two or three cars and is capable of . 40 units have been built and 17 more are on order. It is in service in Germany and Sweden. Railways Germany In Germany it has been designated as DB Class 613 and is operated on Odenwaldbahn and Erfurter Bahn. 27 units have been ordered by the two railways. Sweden In Sweden the unit has the designation Y31 and Y32, the latter for the three-car formation. Seventeen units have been delivered and are currently operated by Jönköpings Länstrafik, Kalmar Länstrafik, Norrtåg, Värmlandstrafik and Västtrafik. The Itino replaced the Y1 railcars. Koblenz Hauptbahnhof
Koblenz Hauptbahnhof is a railway station in the city of Koblenz in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is the focal point of rail transport in the Rhine-Moselle-Lahn area. It is a through station in southern Koblenz built below Fort Großfürst Konstantin and opened in 1902 in the Neustadt (new city), which was built after the demolition of the city walls in 1890. Eltville station is the railway station of Eltville in the Rheingau in the German state of Hesse, on the East Rhine Railway from Wiesbaden to Koblenz. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. Taunus Railway
The Taunus Railway (German: ''Taunus-Eisenbahn'') is a double-track electrified railway line, which connects Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, Germany. It is 41.2 km long and follows the course of the Main on its north side, running quite close to it in some places. The East Rhine Railway (German: ''Rechte Rheinstrecke'', literally 'right (of the) Rhine railway') is a major, double-track, electrified railway line, running along the right bank of the Rhine from Cologne to Wiesbaden. The -long line forms two Deutsche Bahn routes. Route 465 extends from Cologne to Koblenz, via Troisdorf, Bonn-Beuel, Unkel, and Neuwied. Rüdesheim (Rhein) station is in the town of Rüdesheim am Rhein in the German state of Hesse on the East Rhine Railway (german: Rechte Rheinstrecke).
