Västra Götaland County East (Riksdag Constituency)
Västra Götaland County East () is one of the 29 multi-member constituencies of the Riksdag, the national legislature of Sweden. The constituency was established as Skaraborg County in 1970 when the Riksdag changed from a bicameral legislature to a unicameral legislature. It was renamed Västra Götaland County East in 1998 when the counties of Älvsborg, Gothenburg and Bohus and Skaraborg were merged to create Västra Götaland. The constituency currently consists of the municipalities of Essunga, Falköping, Götene, Grästorp, Gullspång, Hjo, Karlsborg, Lidköping, Mariestad, Skara, Skövde, Tibro, Tidaholm, Töreboda and Vara. The constituency currently elects eight of the 349 members of the Riksdag using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. The Riksdag ( , ; also or , ) is the parliament and the parliamentary sovereignty, supreme decision-making body of the Kingdom of Sweden. Since 1971, the Riksdag has been a unicameral parliament with 349 members (), elected proportional representation, proportionally and serving, since 1994, fixed four-year terms. Counties Of Sweden
The counties of Sweden () are the first-level administrative subdivisions of Sweden. There are twenty-one counties; however, the number of counties has varied over time, due to territorial changes and to divisions or mergers of existing counties. They are ''not'' regarded as geographical areas by Swedes as they are not connected to dialects or identity, which is a role fulfilled by the historical provinces of Sweden (). Ulrika Carlsson (born 17 April 1965) is a Sweden, Swedish Centre Party (Sweden), Centre Party politician. She has been a List of members of the Swedish Riksdag, member of the Parliament of Sweden, Riksdag since 2006 and is elected from the constituency of Västra Götaland County East (Riksdag constituency), Västra Götaland County East. Ulrika is the Swedish Centre Partys spokesperson at Education, educational affairs and is a former teacher herself. John Erik Ezelius (born 1986) is a Swedish politician, army officer and member of the Riksdag, the national legislature. A member of the Social Democratic Party, he has represented Västra Götaland County East since September 2018. He had previously been a substitute member of the Riksdag for Urban Ahlin twice: September 2014 to October 2015; and January 2016 to September 2018. Tobias Andersson (politician)
Tobias Joachim Friden Andersson (born 7 May 1996) is a Swedish politician. He has been a Member of the Riksdag since September 2018 for the Sweden Democrats party, representing the constituency of Västra Götaland County East. Andersson graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics at the Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law in 2018. In 2014, at the age of 18, Andersson was elected to the Skövde municipal council for the Sweden Democrats, and then became group leader for the party in the municipality. At the time he was a member of the Sweden Democratic Youth (SDU). In 2015, he ran for chairman of the SDU against Jessica Ohlson and was seen as a more moderate candidate but narrowly lost the election.
