''Volta'' is the sixth studio album by the Icelandic singer Björk, released on 1 May 2007 by One Little Independent Records. It features contributions from multiple artists, including Björk's longtime collaborator Mark Bell and the producers Timbaland and Danja. The album received positive reviews and is Björk's first and only album to reach the top 10 on the US ''Billboard'' 200, peaking at number nine. ''Volta'' spent nine weeks at number one on the US Top Electronic Albums chart and in the first three months of release sold over half a million copies worldwide. In the United Kingdom it was certified silver. The lead single, " Earth Intruders", reached number 67 on the UK Official Download Chart, and number 78 on the main UK Singles Chart, while the remix EP later charted on its own at number 150. "Earth Intruders" is a song written and recorded by Icelandic singer Björk. The song was released as the lead single from her 2007 full-length studio album, ''Volta (album), Volta''. UK Official Download Chart
The UK Singles Downloads Chart is compiled by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on behalf of the music industry. Since July 2015, the chart week runs from Friday to Thursday, with the chart date given as the following Thursday. The main chart contains the Top 200 downloads (which are published in ''UKChartsPlus''), with the top 100 published on the OCC website. The chart only uses sales of ''permanent digital downloads'', that is single-download tracks on non-subscription online music stores. Floyd Nathaniel Hills (born February 22, 1982), known professionally as Danja (), is an American record producer from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Beginning his career as a co-producer for fellow Virginian Timbaland, he has since produced for Britney Spears, Usher, Keri Hilson, T.I., Nelly Furtado, Ciara, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Missy Elliott, M.I.A., Justin Timberlake, JoJo, Joe Jonas, Simple Plan, the Clutch, Pink, T-Pain, Diddy, Meek Mill, Björk, Duran Duran and AGNEZ MO. ''Gling-Gló'' is the only studio album by Björk Guðmundsdóttir & tríó Guðmundar Ingólfssonar, consisting of Björk Guðmundsdóttir on vocals, Guðmundur Ingólfsson on piano, Guðmundur Steingrímsson on drums, and Þórður Högnason on bass. The album's title "Gling-gló" is the Icelandic equivalent of the English onomatopoeia "ding dong", referring to the sound that a bell makes. Most of the songs were recorded on 1 September and 3 September 1990 at Stúdio Sýrland, except for two tracks, which were recorded on 23 August 1990. ''Björk'' is the only studio album by Icelandic singer Björk as a child singer, released in December 1977 by Fálkinn. In 1976, Björk appeared on Icelandic radio singing " I Love to Love" through the music school she attended, which led her to a record deal and the release, with the help of stepfather Sævar, of her first solo album in 1977. "The Dull Flame of Desire" is a song recorded by Icelandic singer Björk featuring Anohni from the band Anohni and the Johnsons.
