The qualification for the Volleyball at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament, 2016 Women's Olympic volleyball tournament was held from 22 August 2015 to 22 May 2016. Twelve teams qualified, the hosts, the FIVB World Cup champion and runner-up, five continental Olympic qualification tournament champions, and four teams from the World Olympic qualification tournament respectively. Teams already qualified for the event were not eligible to play in the following qualification tournaments. 2015 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship
The 2015 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 24th edition of the tournament, played from 27 September to 2 October 2015 in Michoacan, Mexico. The United States won eighth titles, after defeated 3–1 to the Dominican Republic to win the Continental Championship and both qualified, along with Puerto Rico and Canada to the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier. Kim Yeon-Koung
Kim Yeon-koung (, ; born 26 February 1988) is a Korean people, South Korean professional volleyball player and a former member of the FIVB Athletes' Commission. She is an outside hitter and the former captain of the South Korea women's national volleyball team, South Korean National Team. She announced her retirement from the national team in August 2021. Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium
is a sporting complex in Sendagaya, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
