The European qualification for the Volleyball at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Women's tournament, 2016 Women's Olympic Volleyball Tournament was held from 4 to 9 January 2016 in Ankara, Turkey. Russia women's national volleyball team, Russia won the tournament by beating Netherlands women's national volleyball team, Netherlands 3–1, and qualified for the Olympic games. Nataliya Obmochaeva was selected the most valuable player. Qualification The host country played with the 7 highest CEV ranking teams which had not yet qualified to the Olympic games. Nataliya Olegovna Goncharova (, born 1 June 1989), from 2012 to 2016 Obmochaeva, is a Russian volleyball player. She played for the Ukraine women's national volleyball team until 2010 when she became part of the Russia women's national volleyball team. Paola Egonu
Paola Ogechi Egonu (; born 18 December 1998) is an Italian professional volleyball player. She plays for Italian volleyball club Vero Volley Milano and is part of the Italy women's national volleyball team. Early life Egonu was born in Cittadella, Italy, to Nigerian parents. She has two siblings, Angela and Andrea, and a cousin, Terry Enweonwu, who also plays volleyball. She received Italian citizenship at age fourteen. Volleyball Qualification For The 2016 Summer Olympics
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. Lonneke Slöetjes (born 15 November 1990) is a Dutch volleyball player, who plays as an opposite spiker. She is a member of the Women's National Team. She plays as of 2015 for VakifBank Istanbul. Career Slöetjes started playing at VC Varsseveld. In 2015, she played with the national team at the 2015 European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. During the 2016 Olympic Games, Slöetjes helped the Netherlands reach their first semifinal, finishing fourth and being chosen as Best Opposite Spiker of the tournament.
