Volleyball At The 2015 Pan American Games – Women's Tournament
The women's tournament of volleyball at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada began on July 16 and end on July 26. All games were held at the Exhibition Centre. The United States defeated 3-0 to Brazil, who were the defending champions. American Carli Lloyd became the Most Valuable Player. Teams Qualification The following nations qualified for the women's tournament: Squads At the start of tournament, all eight participating countries had 12 players on their rosters. Final squads for the tournament are due on June 16, 2015 a month before the start of 2015 Pan American Games. Volleyball At The 2015 Pan American Games
Volleyball competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto was held from July 16 to 26 at the Direct Energy Centre (Exhibition Centre). Due to naming rights the arena was known as the latter for the duration of the games. A total of eight men's and women's teams competed in each respective tournament. The tournament was affected by the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix and the FIVB Volleyball World League which were played at same time. Competition schedule The following is the competition schedule for the volleyball competitions: Medal table Medalists Qualification A total of eight men's teams and eight women's team will qualify to compete at the games. The top three teams in the FIVB World Rankings from South America as of December 31, 2014 along with the top four from North, Central America and The Caribbean will qualify for each respective tournament. Camila de Paula Brait (born October 28, 1988) is a Brazilian volleyball player from Frutal, Brazil, who plays as a libero. She currently defends Osasco Voleibol Clube and is retired from the Brazilian national team. Brait won the silver medal while representing Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Nicole Marie Fawcett (born December 16, 1986) is an American indoor volleyball player who won the 2014 World Championship and 2015 Pan American Games gold medal with the United States national team. Fawcett played for Penn State University from 2005 to 2008, winning two NCAA national championships in 2007 and 2008. Rachael Alexis Adams (born June 3, 1990) is an American former professional volleyball player who played as a middle blocker for the United States women's national volleyball team. Adams won gold with the national team at the 2014 World Championship and bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Adenízia Aparecida Ferreira da Silva (; born December 18, 1986) is a Brazilian volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker for Pallavolo Scandicci. Melissa Teresa Vargas Abreu (born 16 October 1999 in Cienfuegos, Cuba) is a Cuban-born Turkish volleyball player, who plays for Fenerbahçe Opet and the Turkey women's national volleyball team.
