Volleyball Hall Of Fame
The International Volleyball Hall of Fame (IVHF) was founded to honor extraordinary players, coaches, officials, and leaders who have made significant contributions to the game of volleyball. The Hall of Fame is located in Holyoke, Massachusetts, where volleyball was invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan at the local YMCA. History In 1971, the Greater Holyoke Chamber of Commerce established a committee to campaign for the founding of the Volleyball Hall of Fame in Holyoke, Massachusetts. By 1977, the city of Holyoke installed signs declaring the location as the "Home of the Volleyball Hall of Fame". Steve Timmons
Steve Dennis Timmons (born November 29, 1958) is an American former volleyball player who represented the United States at three consecutive Summer Olympics, winning a gold medal in 1984 and 1988, and a bronze medal in 1992. He was named the MVP of the 1984 Olympics by the International Volleyball Federation. He was a pioneer of back row hitting. Timmons was teammates with Karch Kiraly on the national team at the 1985 FIVB World Cup, the 1986 FIVB World Championship, and the 1987 Pan American Games, winning gold medals in each of these events. Timmons was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1998. High school Timmons played volleyball and basketball at Newport Harbor High School in Newport Beach, California. Dusty Dvorak
Douglas Scott "Dusty" Dvorak (born July 29, 1958) is an American former volleyball player. He was a member of the United States national volleyball team that won the gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. He is regarded as one of the greatest setters of all time. Dvorak helped the United States national team win the gold medal at the 1985 FIVB World Cup in Japan, where he was selected as the best setter. He also helped the United States to the gold medal at the 1986 FIVB World Championship in France. Along with the 1984 Olympic gold, this set of victories earned his team the "triple crown". Dvorak was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1998. Craig Buck
Craig Werner Buck (born August 24, 1958) is an American former volleyball player and two-time Olympic gold medalist. He was a member of the United States national team that won the gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. Buck also helped the United States to gold medals at the 1985 FIVB World Cup and the 1986 FIVB World Championship, which, following the 1984 Olympic gold, constituted a "triple crown". Buck is widely regarded as one of the best middle blockers of all time. He was also a very effective hitter. Pedro Velasco
Pedro "Pete" Velasco Jr. (April 6, 1937 – March 21, 2023) was an American volleyball player who competed with the United States national volleyball team as captain in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, and also competed with the national team in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. He won a silver medal at the 1963 Pan American Games and a gold medal at the 1967 Pan American Games. He was a setter. Velasco was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1997.
