The Volkswagen Passat (B5) is a large family car which was produced by German manufacturer Volkswagen from 1996 to 2006. The car, based on the Volkswagen Group B5 platform, was originally launched in Germany in 1996 and 1997 in North America and Europe as well as during March 1998 in Australia. Design The new Passat's raked windscreen and smooth underpinnings helped give the sedan a 0.27 coefficient of drag. The B5 Passat included higher-quality interior trim and the availability of luxury options to differentiate it in the marketplace. The car featured fully independent four-link front suspension; and a semi-independent torsion beam for front-wheel-drive models or a fully independent suspension on the 4motion 4WD models. The Volkswagen Passat Lingyu is a Chinese mid-size car produced by Volkswagen with its joint venture Shanghai Volkswagen plants in Anting and Nanjing. VR6 Engine
The VR6 engine is a six-cylinder engine configuration developed by Volkswagen. The name VR6 comes from the combination of German words "Verkürzt" and "Reihenmotor" meaning "shortened inline engine" referring to the VR-engine having characteristics of inline layout but shortened. It was developed specifically for transverse engine installations and FWD (front-wheel drive) vehicles.
