Vladimír Weiss (footballer, Born 1964)
Vladimír Weiss (born 22 September 1964) is a Slovak football coach and former player who serves as the coach of Slovan Bratislava. He is one of a small number of people to have appeared as a player and a coach at a FIFA World Cup. Weiss played in the Czechoslovak First League during the 1980s and start of the 1990s until its dissolution, making over 100 league appearances for Inter Bratislava. During this period, he played for Czechoslovakia, making 19 appearances and scoring one goal whilst participating at the 1990 FIFA World Cup as well. Following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, Weiss played for Petra Drnovice in the Czech First League, then returned to Slovakia, playing for Košice, Dunajská Streda, and Petržalka. Czechoslovak First League
The Czechoslovak First League (, ) was the premier football (soccer), football league in the Czechoslovakia from 1925 to 1993, with the exception of World War II. Czechoslovakia was occupied by German forces who formed Gauliga Sudetenland and Gauliga Böhmen und Mähren leagues on occupied territories. Until the 1934-35 season, no teams from Slovakia participated in the league. Czechs were allowed to run their own league in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, while Slovaks were granted their own independent Slovak State and created their own league. Slovak Television and Radio ( ), in short STVR is a nationwide public broadcasting, government-owned corporation, state-funded organisation in Slovakia. Komárno
Komárno (, , ), colloquially also called ''Révkomárom'', ''Öregkomárom'', ''Észak-Komárom'' in Hungarian language, Hungarian, is a town in Slovakia at the confluence of the Danube and the Váh rivers. Historically it was formed by the "old town" on the left bank of Danube, present day Komárno in Slovakia, and by a "new town" on the right bank, present day Komárom in Hungary, which were historically one administrative unit. The Slovak First Football League (), officially known as Niké liga for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Slovakia and the highest level of the Slovak football league system. The 2007–08 Slovak Cup was the 39th season of Slovakia's annual knock-out cup competition and the fourteenth since the independence of Slovakia.
