Virgo Supercluster
The Local Supercluster (LSC or LS), or Virgo Supercluster is a formerly defined supercluster containing the Virgo Cluster and Local Group, which itself contains the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies, as well as others. At least 100 galaxy groups and clusters are located within its diameter of 33 megaparsecs (110 million light-years). The Virgo Supercluster is one of about 10 million superclusters in the observable universe, with the main body of the supercluster, the Virgo Strand, connecting the Hydra-Centaurus and the Perseus–Pisces Superclusters. The Virgo Supercluster is part of the Pisces–Cetus Supercluster Complex, a galaxy filament. A 2014 study indicates that the Local Supercluster is only a part of an even greater supercluster, Laniakea, a larger group centered on the Great Attractor, thus subsuming the former Virgo Supercluster under Laniakea. NGC4632 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation of Virgo. Its velocity with respect to the cosmic microwave background for is , which corresponds to a Hubble distance of . However, 15 ''non-redshift'' measurements give a much closer distance of . It was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel on 22 February 1784. Polar Ringed Galaxy It was discovered in 2023 that the galaxies NGC 4632 and NGC 6156 are surrounded by a disk of cold hydrogen orbiting 90 degrees around their disks. NGC 4123
NGC 4123 is a modest-sized, strongly-barred spiral galaxy located away in the equatorial constellation of Virgo. It was discovered February 25, 1784 by William Herschel. This is a member of the Virgo cluster, and it belongs to a group of three galaxies. A companion galaxy, NGC 4116, lies at an angular separation of to the southwest. There is no indication of an interaction between the two galaxies. The third member of the group is NGC 4179. The morphological classification of NGC 4123 is SBx(rs)ab, which indicates this is a spiral galaxy with a central X-shaped bar (SBx) encircled by an incomplete ring structure (rs) and moderate to tightly wound spiral arms (ab). NGC 4030
NGC 4030 is a grand design spiral galaxy located about 64 million light years away in the constellation Virgo. It is a member of the NGC 4030 Group of galaxies, which is a member of the Virgo II Groups, a series of galaxies and galaxy clusters strung out from the southern edge of the Virgo Supercluster. With an apparent visual magnitude of 10.6, it is visible with a small telescope as a 3 arc minute wide feature about 4.75° to the southeast of the star Beta Virginis. It is inclined by an angle of 47.1° to the line of sight from the Earth and is receding at a velocity of 1,465 km/s. The morphological classification of NGC 4030 in the De Vaucouleurs system is SA(s)bc, which indicates a spiral structure (SA) with no bar (s) and moderate to loosely wound arms (bc).
