Vildhjarta
Vildhjarta is a Swedish progressive metal band from Hudiksvall, formed in 2005. The band plays in a Meshuggah-influenced djent style employing heavily down-tuned guitars, as well as harmonic minor chord progressions, jarring staccato riffs, and layers of reverberant guitars and atmospheres. The band currently consists of guitarist Calle Thomér, vocalist Vilhelm Bladin and drummer Buster Odeholm. Since 2025, no original members remain in the band, with the longest-running member being Calle Thomér since joining in 2009. The group released a two-track demo entitled ''Omnislash'' in 2009 before they proceeded to sign with Century Media Records in 2011, spawning their debut album '' Måsstaden'' that same year. In 2013, they followed up with their first EP, '' Thousands of Evils'', released on an exclusive 1,000-copy vinyl record run. ''Måsstaden under vatten'' ( Swedish: ''"Seagull town underwater"'') is the second studio album by Swedish progressive metal band Vildhjarta, released on 15 October 2021. It is their first studio release in eight years since the '' Thousands of Evils'' EP, and was released nearly ten full years after their debut album, '' Måsstaden'', the concept of which is further explored on this album. ''Måsstaden under vatten'' is the group's last album to feature bassist and founding member Johan Nyberg and the first with drummer Buster Odeholm who also produced, mixed and mastered the album. Måsstaden
''Måsstaden'' ( Swedish: ''"The seagull town"'') is the debut album by Swedish metal band Vildhjarta. Released on 28 November 2011, the album peaked at 37 on the US Top Heatseekers chart. The record was the first release to feature co-lead vocalist Vilhelm Bladin and last to include founding member (and third guitarist) Jimmie Åkerström, who left Vildhjarta in April 2012 due to difficulties from being unable to match the evolving playing and songwriting skill of the rest of the band. Åkerström was never replaced and thus left Vildhjarta without a third guitarist since his leaving. ''Måsstaden'' was a breakthrough success and led to positive reviews and an expanded international fanbase. The musical style found on the album, often described by fans as "thall", would continue to influence multiple bands and artists within the djent scene. It was released digitally in Europe on 30 September 2013, and worldwide in digital form and on a limited 1,000 copy 12" vinyl press on 29 October 2013. Uneven Structure
Uneven Structure was a progressive metal band based in Metz, France. They play a style of post-metal which is heavily influenced by the Swedish extreme metal band Meshuggah. The band blends polyrhythmic passages and extremely low tunings with a heavily layered production style and ambient soundscapes. They are often categorized in the djent movement due to the Meshuggah-like guitar tone they often employ. The band was formed after the split of Longchat, a band which featured Igor Omodei and Benoit Friedrich.
