Victory Tour (The Jacksons Tour)
The Victory Tour was a concert tour by the Jacksons, from July to December 1984. It was the only tour with all six Jackson brothers, although Jackie was injured for some of it. The group performed 55 concerts to an audience of approximately 2.5 million. Of the 55 locations performed at, 53 were large stadiums. Most came to see Michael, whose album '' Thriller'' was dominating the music world at the time. Many regard it as a tour for ''Thriller'', with most of the songs on the set list coming from Michael's albums ''Thriller'' and '' Off the Wall''. The tour reportedly grossed approximately $75 million ($ million in dollars) and set a new record for the highest-grossing tour. The group was formed in Gary, Indiana in 1964, and originally consisted of brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael. They were managed by their father Joe Jackson. Marlon Jackson
Marlon David Jackson (born March 12, 1957) is an American singer and dancer best known as a member of the Jackson 5. He is the sixth child of the Jackson family. Marlon now runs Study Peace Foundation to promote peace and unity worldwide. Donald King (born August 20, 1931) is an American boxing promoter, known for his involvement in several historic boxing matchups. King's career highlights include, among multiple other enterprises, promoting "The Rumble in the Jungle" and the "Thrilla in Manila". It is the only song on the album featuring Michael and Marlon Jackson, as they had left the group before further recording sessions. The song also features two of the Jackson sisters: Rebbie and Janet. "2300 Jackson Street" is about the Jackson family's childhood home on 2300 Jackson Street in Gary, Indiana.
