Verein Für Deutsche Kulturbeziehungen Im Ausland
The Verein für Deutsche Kulturbeziehungen im Ausland (; "Association for German cultural relations abroad"), abbreviated VDA, is a German cultural organisation. During the Nazi era it was engaged in spying across the whole world, using German minorities living in other countries. Its other goals included preservation of German culture among "racial Germans". On the 13 May 1880, in Vienna, the ''Deutscher Schulverein'' (DSV/German School Association) was formed. In 1881, the ''Allgemeine Deutsche Schulverein zur Erhaltung des Deutschtums im Auslande'' (General German School Association for the Conservation of Germanness Abroad), was formed in Berlin by Hamburg lawyer Julius Scharlach. It was modeled on the Viennese DSV. The associations in Vienna and Berlin initially worked closely together. There are donation cards with the imprint of DSV-Berlin and Vienna in existence. Karl Haushofer
Karl Ernst Haushofer (27 August 1869 – 10 March 1946) was a German general, professor, geographer, and diplomat. Haushofer's concept of Geopolitik influenced the ideological development of Adolf Hitler. Rudolf Hess was also a student of Haushofer, and during Hess and Hitler's incarceration by the Weimar Republic after the Beer Hall Putsch, Haushofer visited Landsberg Prison to teach and mentor both Hess and Hitler. Haushofer also coined the political use of the term ''Lebensraum'', which Hitler also used to justify both crimes against peace and genocide. At the same time, however, Gen. Heinrich Gotthard von Treitschke (; 15 September 1834 – 28 April 1896) was a German historian, political writer and National Liberal member of the Reichstag during the time of the German Empire. Hartmut Koschyk (born April 16, 1959, Forchheim, Germany) is a German politician (CSU) and former member of the Bundestag. From 2009 to 2013, he was Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Finance. Prior to that, he was parliamentary director of the CSU state group in the German Bundestag from 2005 to 2009. Rolf Rodenstock (1 July 1917 – 6 February 1997) was a German industrialist who was born and died in Munich. Life Rodenstock studied marketing and management graduating in 1944 with a degree as a Diplom-Kaufmann. In 1947 he became private lecturer.
