Vere Essex Cromwell, 4th Earl Of Ardglass
Vere Essex Cromwell, 4th Earl of Ardglass PC (I), (2 October 1625 – 26 November 1687) was an English nobleman, son of Thomas Cromwell, 1st Earl of Ardglass and Elizabeth Meverell. He was the last direct male descendant of Henry VIII's chief minister, and key architect of the English reformation, Thomas Cromwell. Life Vere Essex Cromwell was born at Throwleigh, Staffordshire and was educated at Trinity College, Dublin. He succeeded his nephew Thomas Cromwell as Earl of Ardglass and Viscount Lecale in the Peerage of Ireland in 1682, as well as Baron Cromwell in the Peerage of England. He died 26 November 1687 at his home in Booncastle, County Down and was buried 29 November at Downpatrick Abbey, County Down. On his death without male issue, all of his titles became extinct. The Peerage of England comprises all peerages created in the Kingdom of England before the Act of Union in 1707. Piers Butler, 3rd Viscount Galmoye, otherwise Viscount Galmoy (21 March 1652 – 18 June 1740), was an Anglo-Irish nobleman. He was descended from the 10th Earl of Ormond. He was the son of Edward Butler, 2nd Viscount Galmoye, and Eleanor White. Marriage and issue He married Anne Mathew and with her had one son, Colonel Edward Butler, who was killed at the Battle of Malplaquet in 1709. After the death of his first wife, he married Henrietta FitzJames, the illegitimate daughter of King James II and Arabella Churchill, on 3 April 1695. She was the widow of Henry Waldegrave, 1st Baron Waldegrave. Life and career In 1677, Lord Galmoye took the degree of LL.D. at Oxford. James Butler, 2nd Duke Of Ormonde
James FitzJames Butler, 2nd Duke of Ormonde, (1665–1745) was an Irish statesman and soldier. He was the third of the Kilcash branch of the family to inherit the Earl of Ormond (Ireland), earldom of Ormond. Like his grandfather, the 1st Duke, he was raised as a Protestant, unlike his extended Butler dynasty, family who held to Roman Catholicism. Edward Southwell (1705-1755)
Edward Southwell Jr. (16 June 1705 – 16 March 1755) of King's Weston, Gloucestershire, was an Anglo-Irish Whig politician who sat in the Parliament of Ireland from 1727 to 1755 and in the British House of Commons from 1739 to 1754. Southwell was the son of Edward Southwell (1671–1730) and Elizabeth Cromwell, 8th Baroness Cromwell and the grandson of Sir Robert Southwell. He was educated at Westminster School from 1715 to 1716 and matriculated at Queen's College, Oxford in 1721. He travelled abroad from 1723. Southwell sat in the Irish House of Commons for Downpatrick from 1727 until his death. He succeeded his father as Principal Secretary of State (Ireland) in 1730, and on 6 May 1732 he was appointed to the Privy Council of Ireland. Edward Southwell Sr. Privy Council of Ireland, PC (Ire) (4 September 1671 – 4 December 1730) was an Anglo-Irish lawyer and politician. Early life He was the second but only surviving son of Sir Robert Southwell (diplomat), Robert Southwell of Kings Weston, near Bristol.
