University Of South-Eastern Norway
The University of South-Eastern Norway ( no, Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge), commonly known as USN, is a Norwegian state university. It has campuses in Bø, Telemark, Porsgrunn, Notodden, Rauland, Drammen, Hønefoss, Kongsberg and Horten. USN is a continuation of the three former university colleges, Telemark University College, Buskerud University College and Vestfold University College, which merged between 2014 and 2016 to form the University College of South-Eastern Norway. The institution was granted the status of a full university by the King-in-Council on 4 May 2018. It has 1,360 employees and 17,152 students. USN has 88 undergraduate programs, 44 master's programs and 8 PhD programs. Measured in the number of students, USN is among the largest in higher education in Norway. Optician
An optician, or ''dispensing optician'', is a technical practitioner who designs, fits and dispenses lenses for the correction of a person's vision. Opticians determine the specifications of various ophthalmic appliances that will give the necessary correction to a person's eyesight. Some registered or licensed opticians also design and fit special appliances to correct cosmetic, traumatic or anatomical defects. These devices are called shells or artificial eyes. Sindre Fossum Beyer
Sindre Fossum Beyer (born 10 October 1977) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He studied economics and administration at Telemark University College from 1998 to 2000, and marketing at BI Norwegian Business School from 2000 to 2002. After one year in the Norwegian People's Aid, he was hired as political adviser in the Labour Party in 2003. In 2007 he was hired as information director in the Labour Party, as well as studying public relations and strategic communication at master's level at the BI Norwegian Business School. On the local level Fossum Beyer was a member of Porsgrunn municipal council from 1995 to 1999 and Telemark county council from 1999 to 2003. Nicolai Houm
Nicolai Houm (born 25 August 1974) is a Norwegian novelist. He is a grandson of literary critic Philip Houm, and grew up at Jar except for some years in the United States. He studied at the writers' course at Telemark University College, and later lived at Grønland, Oslo before buying a small farm in Sylling. Halvor Kleppen
Halvor Kleppen (born 3 September 1947 in Bø, Telemark) is a Norwegian media personality, theme park owner and writer. He was hired in Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation radio in 1973, and worked in the entertainment department. In the summer of 1982 he presented the show ''Sumarteltet'', where he toured with a circus and made an entertainment show from that. In 1982 he was awarded the '' Se og Hør'' readers' TV personality of the year award. He left the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation later that year to become a freelancer. The Centre Party ( no, Senterpartiet, Sp; se, Guovddášbellodat), formerly the Farmer's Party ( no, Bondepartiet, Bp), is an agrarian political party in Norway. Ideologically, the Centre Party is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, it advocates for economic nationalist and protectionist policy to protect Norwegian farmers with toll tariffs, and it supports decentralisation. Eli Blakstad (born 10 August 1962) is a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. She finished her secondary education in 1981, and graduated from Jønsberg Agricultural School in 1982 and Telemark University College in 1985. She was hired as an accountant in Sør-Fron in 1985, and since 1990 she has also been a farmer. From 2001 to 2011 she was the chief executive officer of Peer Gynt AS.
