University Of Chittagong
The University of Chittagong ( bn, চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, caṭṭagram bishwabidyalay) is a public research university with multidisciplinary faculties situated across a 1754-acres hilly landmass in Fatehpur Union of Hathazari Upazila, north of Chittagong city of Bangladesh. This university has the largest campus among Bangladeshi universities. The academic activities of the university formally began on 18 November 1966. It has about 27,500 students and more than 900 faculty members. Fazlul Qadir Chaudhry
Fazlul Quader Chowdhury (1919–1973) was a Bengali people, Bengali politician who served as the 5th speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan from East Pakistan. He belonged to Ayub Khan (Field Marshal), Ayub Khan's Convention Muslim League. He was also the Acting President of Pakistan, Acting President of Pakistan from time to time when Ayub Khan left the country. Abul Fazal (writer)
Abul Fazal (1 July 1903–4 May 1983) was a Bangladeshi writer and academic. He served as the 4th vice-chancellor of University of Chittagong. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1962 and Independence Day Award in 2012 (posthumously). Early life and education Fazal was born at Satkania Upazila in Chittagong District in 1903 to Moulvi Fazlur Rahman, an Imam of Chittagong Jame Masjid. Fazal earned B.A. from the University of Dhaka. He passed M.A. in Bengali language and literature from Calcutta University in 1940. Career Fazal began his career as an Imam. He taught in multiple schools as a teacher. In 1941, he became a professor of Krishnanagar College and later of Chittagong College. He served as the vice-chancellor of the University of Chittagong from 1973 to 1975. Alaol
Syed Alaol ( bn, সৈয়দ আলাওল; 1607 – 1680) was a 17th century poet of Bengal. His most well known work is ''Padmavati'', which depicts the story of Padmavati, the Sinhalese princess. He is considered to be one of the most prolific medieval Bengali poets. Since most of his poems combine emotion with intellect, he is called the ''Pandit Kabi'' (Pandit of Poets) of medieval Bengali literature. An important Bangladeshi literary prize, the Alaol Sahitya Puroshkar, is named after him. It was built so that students of Chittagong University can travel to their university easily. It has one platform. Chattogram Railway Station is a railway station in Bangladesh, situated at Battoli, Station Road of Chattogram District. It is one of the largest railway stations of the country. This station has an old and a new terminal. Old terminal The old terminal was constructed during the British era. It comprises a two-storied 56.24 m long and 10.37 m wide station building, which was constructed on November 7, 1896. Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury (born 1 July 1955) is a Bangladeshi academic. He served as the 17th vice-chancellor of the University of Chittagong.
