United States Men's National Water Polo Team
The United States men's national water polo team is the representative for the United States of America in international men's water polo. The team is the only non-European squad to win medals in the men's Olympic water polo tournament, most recently during the 2008 Summer Olympics, where they won a silver medal after losing the final to Hungary 14–10. On May 7, 2013, USA Water Polo named Serbian Dejan Udovičić the head coach of the United States men's senior national team. Udovičić was the former head coach of the Serbian men's national team. USA Water Polo
USA Water Polo is the governing body of the sport of water polo in the United States and is a member of the United States Aquatic Sports. USA Water Polo is responsible for fielding national teams and hosts 20 annual tournaments. The Organization has its headquarters in Irvine, California. History 1970s USA Water Polo was formed in 1978 after a new law designated the United States Olympic Committee as the governing body for all Olympic activity in the United States. Water polo in the United States had previously been controlled by the Amateur Athletic Union. The organization is now responsible for Olympic development. The US has fielded a women's national team since the 1970s. Tina Bejarano, Lara Ruiz, Carmen Bejarano, Debbie Powell, Desiree Zepeda and Anabel Barragon played on a team from Commerce, California during this era. Chris Humbert
Christopher A. Humbert (born December 27, 1969 in Modesto, California) is a former water polo center forward from the United States, who competed in three Summer Olympics ( 1992, 1996 and 2000) for his native country. He was part of the United States national team squads that won the gold medal in the 1991 FINA World Cup in Barcelona and the gold medal in the 1997 FINA World Cup in Athens. At club level, he played overseas in Italy and Greece. From 1992 to 1994 he played for Italian giants Posillipo, with whom he won 2 Italian Championships. In 2002–03 season, he played for Greek powerhouse Olympiacos, with whom he won the LEN Super Cup, the Greek Championship and the Greek Cup. In 2018, he was inducted into the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame.
