Utah's Congressional Districts
Utah is divided into 4 congressional districts, each represented by a member of the United States House of Representatives. After the 2010 census, Utah gained one House seat, and a new map was approved by the state legislature and signed into law by Governor Gary Herbert. Current districts and representatives Utah’s congressional districts are the subject of a court challenge and an example of partisan gerrymandering. In this instance, Republican lawmakers drew the boundaries to dilute the Democratic vote by splitting Democratic-leaning Salt Lake County across all four congressional districts. The Utah Supreme Court ruled in July, 2024, that the legislature did not have the constitutional right to override 2018 Utah Proposition 4, which required districts be drawn by an independent redistricting commission. Utah is a landlocked state in the Mountain states, Mountain West subregion of the Western United States. It is one of the Four Corners states, sharing a border with Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico. It also borders Wyoming to the northeast, Idaho to the north, and Nevada to the west. Burgess Owens
Clarence Burgess Owens (born August 2, 1951) is an American politician and former professional football player serving as the U.S. representative for Utah's 4th congressional district since 2021. He played safety for 10 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Jets and the Oakland / Los Angeles Raiders, winning a championship with the Raiders in Super Bowl XV in 1980. Since leaving the NFL, Owens has founded several businesses and is the CEO of a nonprofit dedicated to helping troubled and incarcerated youth. A member of the Republican Party, Owens was first elected to Congress in 2020, when he narrowly defeated incumbent Democrat Ben McAdams in the 2020 election. Owens is one of four black Republicans in the House of Representatives. Alpine, Utah
Alpine is a city on the northeastern edge of Utah County, Utah, Utah County, Utah, United States. The population was 10,251 at the time of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. Mike Kennedy (politician)
Michael Steven Kennedy (born February 2, 1969) is an American politician, attorney, and physician serving as the U.S. representative from Utah’s 3rd congressional district since 2025. He previously served as a Republican member of the Utah Senate from 2021 to 2025 and as a member of the Utah House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019. Kennedy was a candidate in the 2018 U.S. Senate election in Utah. He received the most votes at the Utah State Republican Convention but was defeated by Mitt Romney in the subsequent primary for the Republican nomination. In June of 2024, Kennedy won the Republican nomination for Utah's 3rd congressional district with 39% of the vote in a crowded field of 5 candidates despite being outspent 5-1 and 2-1 by top two competitors.
