Usoni Club de Mutsamudu, better known as simply Usoni, is a Comorian basketball club based in Mutsamudu. The club's colors are blue and white and they play in the Comoros Basketball Championship. In 2019, the team competed in the 2020 BAL Qualifying Tournaments, inaugural qualifiers for the Basketball Africa League. The team had a 0–4 record while Soula El Had led the team in scoring. Comoros Basketball Championship
The Comoros National Basketball Championship is an annual tournament for basketball teams in the Comoros to determine the national champions. It is organised by the Comorian Basketball Federation (in French: ''Fédération Comorienne de Basketball;'' abbreviated as FCB). The current champions in the men's category are Ushindzi Club. The winners of each season are eligible to represent the Comoros in the Road to BAL. Mutsamudu
Mutsamudu (also known as Moutsamoudou) is the second-largest city in the Comoros. It is also the capital and largest city on the island of Anjouan as well the former home of former Comorian president Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi. It now houses a deep water port, an ancient citadel, and narrow streets with many shops and small crafts. The population in 2021 stood at 23,594. History Mutsamudu was likely founded in 1482. 2020 BAL Qualifying Tournaments
The 2020 BAL Qualifying Tournaments were the inaugural qualifying tournaments of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), the newly launched premier basketball league of Africa jointly organized by the NBA and FIBA. While the NBA will co-organise from the regular season, the qualifiers are completely organised by FIBA Africa. A total of 31 teams from 31 countries participate in the qualifying tournaments in order to determine which six teams will play in the 2020 BAL regular season, along with six directly placed six teams. Basketball Africa League
The Basketball Africa League (BAL) is the premier men's basketball league in Africa. Founded in 2019, the league was established and is co-organized by NBA Africa and the FIBA, International Basketball Federation (FIBA). Each season typically runs from March to June, and in the current format of the league consists of twelve teams. Each of the teams qualify through their performance in their domestic competition.
