Unmanned Systems Forces
The Unmanned Systems Forces ( USF, ) is a Military branch, branch of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Armed Forces of Ukraine that specializes in drone warfare and the use of unmanned military robots on Land warfare, land, Naval warfare, sea, and Aerial warfare, air. The USF was created in the midst of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, and was formally established on 11 June 2024. Ukraine is the first country to have a branch of its military dedicated to unmanned systems. Drone warfare is a form of warfare using military drones or military robots. The robots may be remote controlled or have varying levels of autonomy during their mission. 59th Assault Brigade
The 59th Separate Assault Brigade () is a formation of the Unmanned Systems Forces formed in 2014 as part of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. The brigade was activated on 8 December 2014 in the city of Haisyn in Vinnytsia Oblast and took command of three volunteer territorial defense battalions. On 24 August 2015, Ukraine's Independence Day, the brigade received its flag and became fully operational. The brigade fought in the war in Donbas and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
