The University of Jordan (), often abbreviated UJ or JU, is a public university located in Amman, Jordan. Al-Jubeiha (الجبيهة) is a city district and one of twenty-two Districts of the Greater Amman Municipality in Jordan. Al-Jubeiha has seven neighborhoods: Al-Jama'a, Al-Rasheed, Qurneh, Al-Sadiq, Al-Zaitounah, Al-Mahabah, and Al-Baladiyat. Abdul-Karim Gharaybeh
Abdul-Karim Mahmud Gharaybeh (20 June 1923 – 22 February 2014) was a Jordanian historian, academic and politician. Early life Gharaybeh was born in Irbid on 20 June 1923. He started studying medicine but after his first anatomy lesson changed his major to history. In 1950 he earned his PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. He was one of the first Jordanians to earn a PhD. Career In 1956 he was the first Jordanian to be named Director General of the Department of Antiquities of Jordan. He succeeded Gerald Lankester Harding, who had headed the department between 1939 and 1956. Gharaybeh was himself succeeded by Saeed al-Durrah the same year he was appointed. Wasfi Tal (; also known as Wasfi Tell; 1920 – 28 November 1971) was a Jordanian politician, statesman and military officer. He served as the 15th Prime Minister of Jordan for three separate terms, 1962–63, 1965–67 and 1970 until his assassination in 1971. Tal was born in Arapgir, Ottoman Empire to prominent Jordanian poet Mustafa Wahbi Tal and a Kurdish mother. He received his elementary education in Jordan, later continuing his education at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. He then joined the British Army in Mandatory Palestine after being trained in a British-run military academy, and joined the irregular Arab Liberation Army to fight against Israel during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War.
