United States Women's National Rugby Union Team
The USA Women's national rugby union team, nicknamed the Women's Eagles, represents the United States in women's international rugby union. The team was officially formed in 1987 and is nicknamed the Eagles. An international powerhouse during the 1990s— the Eagles won the inaugural 1991 Women's World Cup and finished second in the two following World Cups in 1994 and 1998. The team finished fourth at the 2017 Rugby World Cup in Ireland. In May 2018, Rob Cain was appointed full-time Head Coach. Cain joined the Eagles after winning the inaugural Tyrell Premier 15s title in England with Saracens Women. Loughborough Lightning are a women's rugby union club based in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. They are the Professional women's team of Loughborough Students RUFC and Loughborough University. 2025 Pacific Four Series
The 2025 Pacific Four Series was the fifth edition of the Pacific Four Series, an international women's rugby union tournament. Matches took place from the 3 to 24 May over two continents and provided all four teams with important preparation ahead of the Women's Rugby World Cup in England. Canada were the reigning champions and were defending their title in this tournament. New Zealand reclaimed the Pacific Four Series after winning against the United States in the final match. Sione Fukofuka is an Australian rugby union coach. Early career Fukofuka taught English and Physical Education at Brisbane State High School for sixteen years. Coaching career Fukofuka was the Development coach for the Australian Youth Women’s sevens team to the 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games, and for the Australian Men’s sevens team in 2019. New Zealand and the United States clashed for the first time officially at the inaugural 1991 Rugby World Cup in Wales (although there was an earlier non-test match encounter at RugbyFest 1990). They have faced each other 16 times with New Zealand winning 15, and the USA winning 1. The Eagles handed the Black Ferns their first defeat in the semi-final with a score of (7–0). Emilie Bydwell
Emilie Bydwell (born 31 August 1985) is a Canadian American rugby union coach and former player. Bydwell was a three-time All-American at Brown University and was also selected as the 2007 Collegiate Player of the Year. While at Brown University she also played ice hockey. Rugby career Playing career Bydwell began playing rugby at age fourteen. Bydwell graduated from Brown University in 2008 with a degree in human biology. After college she played senior club rugby with the Beantown Rugby in Boston, MA. She made her USA Eagles debut against England in August 2008. Pete Steinberg (born 16 May 1971) is an American rugby union coach and former player. He is the current head coach of the United States. He has previously coached the Penn State Rugby.
