United Democrats – Association Of Independents
The United Democrats – Association of Independents (Czech: ''Spojení demokraté - Sdružení nezávislých,'' SD-SN) is a small Czech extra-parliamentary political party, formed from what remained of the European Democrats (Czech: ''Evropští demokraté'') after that party's merger in 2006 with SNK Union of Independents to form SNK European Democrats. SD-SN has in the past cooperated with the Mayors and Independents in the Czech Senate. For the 2024 European Parliament election, the party was a member of the Stačilo! alliance, together with the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM) and the Czech National Social Party (ČSNS), and had one Member of the European Parliament (MEP) elected. Communist Party Of Bohemia And Moravia
The Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (, KSČM) is a communist party in the Czech Republic. As of 2022, KSČM has a membership of 20,450. Sources variously describe the party as either left-wing or Far-left politics, far-left on the political spectrum. It is one of the few former ruling parties in post-Communist Central Eastern Europe to have not dropped the ''Communist'' title from its name, although it has changed its party program to adhere to laws adopted after 1989. 2019 European Parliament Election In The Czech Republic
The 2019 European Parliament election in the Czech Republic was held on 24 and 25 May 2019, electing the 21 members of the Czech delegation to the European Parliament as part of the European elections held across the European Union. The result was a victory of the populist ruling party ANO ( ALDE), with 21.18 per cent and 6 seats, 2 more seats than in 2014 election. Followed by conservative ODS ( ECR), with 14.54 per cent and 4 seats, marking a notable growth in the election. The Pirate Party also made major gains. SPD ( ENF) gained seats in its first European election, while KDU-ČSL (EPP), TOP 09/ STAN ( EPP) and KSČM ( GUE/NGL) lost seats. 2014 European Parliament Election In The Czech Republic
European Parliament elections were held in the Czech Republic on 23 and 24 May 2014. In total, 21 Member of the European Parliament, Members of the European Parliament were elected using proportional representation (single district D'Hondt with a 5% threshold). ANO 2011, ANO won the election closely followed by the coalition of TOP 09 and Mayors and Independents, STAN, themselves closely followed by ČSSD. The 2009 European Parliament election in Czech Republic was the election of the delegation from Czech Republic to the European Parliament in 2009. The Civic Democratic Party has won the election with a surprisingly strong lead against the Czech Social Democratic Party. Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia came third and the Christian and Democratic Union – Czechoslovak People's Party became the last party to enter the Parliament. 2022 Czech Senate Election
Senate elections were held in the Czech Republic on 23 and 24 September 2022 alongside 2022 Czech municipal elections, municipal elections. The election were won by the Spolu (Czech Republic), Spolu alliance consisting of the Civic Democratic Party (Czech Republic), Civic Democratic Party (ODS), KDU-ČSL and TOP 09 which won 20 seats (including Tábor 2020 candidate Marek Slabý and ProMOST candidate Jan Paparega). 2016 Czech Senate Election
Senate elections were held in the Czech Republic on 7 and 8 October 2016, with a second round on 14 and 15 of October. The first round was held alongside regional elections and several municipal referendums, notably in a referendum in Brno on the location of the town's train station. The governing coalition of the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD), ANO 2011 and the Christian and Democratic Union (KDU-ČSL) retained a majority in the full Senate, with the KDU-ČSL making the largest gains, while the Social Democrats incurred the greatest losses, retaining only two of their twelve seats up for re-election.
