Union Of Social Democrats (Côte D'Ivoire)
Union of Social Democrats (USD; ; ''Soyuz sotsial-demokratov'', ''SSD'') was an all-Russian non-governmental organization founded on 20 October 2007 by former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. The party had its roots in the former Social Democratic Party of Russia, which lost its official status in April 2007 due to low party membership. The Union of Social Democrats skipped the 2007 general election, in order to concentrate on its ultimate goal: to become a mass political party by 2011. In September 2008, Gorbachev announced the formation of the Independent Democratic Party of Russia, although the plans later fell through. Mikhail Gorbachev
Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev (2 March 1931 – 30 August 2022) was a Soviet and Russian politician who served as the last leader of the Soviet Union from 1985 to dissolution of the Soviet Union, the country's dissolution in 1991. He served as General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1985 and additionally as head of state beginning in 1988, as Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet from 1988 to 1989, Chairman of the Supreme Soviet from 1989 to 1990 and the president of the Soviet Union from 1990 to 1991. Ideologically, Gorbachev initially adhered to Marxism–Leninism but moved towards social democracy by the early 1990s. The Independent Democratic Party of Russia (НДПР, IDPR or NDPR; ) was the proposed name of a Liberalism in Russia, liberal party that was announced in late September 2008 to be founded by the former General Secretary of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, and State Duma deputy of Fair Russia, Alexander Lebedev. 2007 Russian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Russia on 2 December 2007. At stake were the 450 seats in the 5th State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly (the legislature). Eleven parties were included in the ballot, including Russia's largest party, United Russia, which was supported by President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Official results showed that United Russia won 64.3% of the votes, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation 11.6%, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia 8.1%, and A Just Russia won 7.7%, and none of the other parties won enough votes to gain any seats. Although 400 foreign election monitors were present at the polling stations, the elections received mixed criticism internationally, largely from Western countries, and by some independent media and some opposition parties domestically. Russian Social-Democratic Union of Youth (RSDUY; Russian: ''Российский социал-демократический союз молодёжи'', РСДСМ - Rossiyskiy Sotsial-Demokraticheskiy Soyuz Molodiozhi, RSDSM) is a Russian non-governmental organization founded in December 2000 with the support of Mikhail Gorbachev as a youth branch of the Russian United Social Democratic Party. It became a member of the International Union of Socialist Youth in 2004. The chairman has been Evgeniy Konovalov since 2006. In 2007, members participated in the establishment of the Union of Social Democrats. On 19 March 2007, RSDUY refused to sign the Declaration of the Progressive Youth Forum, appealing to the fact that its authors actually call for revolution and trying to flirt with the nationalists.
