Ulvi, Lääne-Viru County
Ulvi is a village in Lääne-Viru County, in northeastern Estonia. It's located about 16 km east of the town of Rakvere and about west of Kiviõli, in Vinni Parish. Prior to the 2017 administrative reform of Estonian municipalities, Ulvi was the administrative centre of Rägavere Parish. The village has a population of 341 (as of 1 January 2010). Ulvi Manor () was first mentioned in 1489. In the 18th century it belonged to the Clapier de Colongue family and from 1803 to von Winkler. The last owner was Alexander von Winkler who owned the manor until 1939. The main building is constructed in two stages. In the 1880s, a two-storey historicist extension with a tower was added to the simple single-storey main building. Ulvi Cemal Erkin
Ulvi Cemal Erkin () (March 14, 1906 – September 15, 1972) was a member of the pioneer group of symphonic composers in Turkey, born in the period 1904–1910, who later came to be called The Turkish Five. These composers set out the direction of music in the newly established Turkish Republic. These composers distinguished themselves with their use of Turkish folk music and modal elements in an entirely Western symphonic style. Biography Ulvi Cemal Erkin's aptitude for music was noticed at an early age by his mother, herself a pianist. His father was a senior civil servant in the Ottoman administration, contracted sepsis and died when the Erkin was seven. Ulvi Cemal had two older brothers, Feridun Cemal and Adnan Cemal. Ulvi Rajab (; 1903, Janivri, near Batumi – 2 January 1938, Baku) was an Azerbaijani stage actor. Life and career He was born Ulvi Shashikadze ( ka, ულვი შაშიკაძე) in the village of Janivri (presently in Adjara, Georgia) to a Muslim Georgian family. His stage name Rajab derived from his father's first name. He lost his father at an early age. He received primary education in Istanbul where he went with his aunt, but dropped out following the beginning of World War I and began making a living. In 1918, he returned to Batumi where he attended the play ''Othello'' staged by an Azerbaijani theatre troupe led by Huseyn Arablinski at the local Actors' Society. He decided to join the troupe but appeared in minor roles until 1922, when he replaced an absent actor as Soltan bey in ''The Cloth Peddler'' and was recognized for his talent. Ulvi Voog
Ulvi Indrikson (née Voog; born 18 February 1937) is an Estonian former freestyle swimmer who won a silver medal in the 4×100 m medley relay at the 1958 European Aquatics Championships. She also competed at the 1960 Summer Olympics in the 100 m and 4×100 m freestyle and finished eighth in the 4×100 m relay. During her career she won 11 national (USSR) titles: in the 100 m freestyle (1955–58, 60), 400 m freestyle (1956–60) and 4×100 m freestyle (1958), and set 10 national records. Voog graduated from the University of Tartu. She started training in swimming in 1952 and after retirement in 1967 worked as a swimming coach for Dünamo Tallinn (1967–92) and the Soviet swimming team (1977). Around 1960 she changed her name to Indrikson. She is a grandmother of Estonian swimmers Triin, Martti and Berit Aljand.
