Uganda Women's National Football Team
The Uganda women's national football team also known as The Crested Cranes is the national women's football team of Uganda. It is controlled by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations. History FUFA President Lawrence Mulindwa addressed this in 2007, saying, "We had a girls' tournament in Luweero earlier this year and top players are going to be assembled into a national team to contest at the inaugural CECAFA Women's Challenge Cup to be held in Zanzibar in October." Federation Of Uganda Football Associations
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is the governing body of association football in Uganda. The association was founded in 1924, became affiliated with FIFA in 1960 and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in 1961. In 1973, FUFA went ahead and got affiliated with CECAFA. Further more, FUFA is also affiliated to Uganda Olympic Committee. FUFA is; * a custodian of eight men's and women's national football teams (i.e. the Uganda Cranes, the Crested Cranes, U-23; Uganda Kobs, U-20; Uganda Hippos, U-17; Uganda Cubs, Sand Cranes, U-20 girls and U-17 girls) * a top administrator/regulator of national football league which runs from the first tier (top/1st division) to the fifth tier (5th division). Sylvia Kabene (born 3 May 2007) is an Ugandan footballer who plays as a forward for FUFA Women Super League club St. Noa Girls and the Uganda national team. Nakivubo Stadium
Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds, formerly referred to as Nakivubo Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kampala, Uganda. Following extensive renovations led by businessman Haji Hamis Kiggundu, Dr. Hamis Kiggundu in partnership with the Ugandan government, the stadium has been upgraded to international standards. Zainah Namuleme
Zaina Namuleme (born 9 January 2000) is an Ugandan footballer who plays as a midfielder for FUFA Women Super League club Makerere University and captains the Uganda national team. Club career Namuleme began her football career with Gadhafi Integrated Academy in 2013, remaining with the team until 2016 when it transitioned into Kampala Queens, where she continued her playing career. 2026 Women's Africa Cup Of Nations Qualification
The 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations qualification is a women's football competition that will determine the 11 teams joining the automatically qualified host Morocco in the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations final tournament. Format The African qualifiers commenced in February 2025 and will feature two rounds of competition. In the first round, the 32 teams ranked 7th and below played home-and-away two-legged ties. The 16 winners advanced to the second round, where they will be joined by the 6 teams that received a bye. The winners of the 11 second round home-and-away ties will qualify for the final tournament in Morocco. Tiebreakers If the aggregate score is tied after the second leg, the away goals rule will have been applied, and if still tied, a penalty shoot-out will be held (no extra time).
