UCI Track Cycling World Ranking
The UCI Track Cycling World Ranking is a track cycling ranking system based upon the results in all men's and women's Union Cycliste Internationale, UCI-sanctioned races over a twelve-month period. The ranking includes an individual and a nations ranking and includes the disciplines: individual pursuit, points race, scratch race, scratch, sprint (cycling), sprint, time trial, keirin, omnium (since 2010–11), team pursuit, team sprint and Madison (cycling), madison. The madison ranking was only for male riders until 2016–17. In 2021 and 2022 there was also an elimination race ranking. Track Cycling
Track cycling is a Cycle sport, bicycle racing sport usually held on specially built banked tracks or velodromes using purpose-designed track bicycles. History Track cycling has been around since at least 1870. When track cycling was in its infancy, it was held on velodromes similar to the ones used today. These velodromes consisted of two straights and slightly banked turns, though they varied more in length and material than the modern 250 m track. One appeal of indoor track racing was that spectators could be easily controlled, and hence an entrance fee could be charged, making track racing a lucrative sport. Early track races attracted crowds of up to 2,000 people. Indoor tracks also enabled year-round cycling for the first time. Morgan Kneisky
Morgan Kneisky (born 31 August 1987) is a French former track and road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2010 and 2020 for the , , and squads. Kneisky is a four-time UCI Track Cycling World Championships gold medallist, winning golds in the madison in 2013 with Vivien Brisse, 2015 with Bryan Coquard and 2017 with Benjamin Thomas, and the scratch in 2009. He retired following the 2021 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Biography Morgan Kneisky began cycling as a youngster, when he joined the Amicale Cycliste Bisontine. Giorgia Bronzini
Giorgia Bronzini (born 3 August 1983) is an Italian former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2003 and 2017. She won the women's road race in the UCI Road World Championships in both 2010 and 2011 and the women's points race in the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in 2009. Born in Piacenza, Bronzini took a total of 80 victories on the road and the track, including stages of the Giro d'Italia Femminile, La Route de France, the Tour of Qatar, the Tour of California, and the Tour of Chongming Island. After a 16-year career, in August 2018 Bronzini announced that she would retire at the end of the season and become a ''directeur sportif'' with Trek Bicycle Corporation's new women's team, in 2019. Cameron Meyer (born 11 January 1988) is an Australian former professional racing cyclist, who competed as a professional from 2009 to 2022. Career Born in Viveash, Western Australia, Meyer started cycling at the age of 13 in 2001 and first represented his country at the World Junior Track Championships in 2005. Kaarle McCulloch
Kaarle McCulloch (born 20 January 1988) is an Australian former professional track cyclist and four-time World Champion in the team sprint. She also won three golds at the Commonwealth Games and an Olympic bronze medal. She qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and rode in two events, the Women's Keirin, where she came ninth, and the Women's Sprint, where she came thirteenth. Early years McCulloch grew up in Gymea, New South Wales. She was a promising middle-distance runner and won middle-distance championships in the 400 metres and 800 metres events when she was 14, 15, and 16. Simona Krupeckaitė (born 13 December 1982) is a Lithuanian former professional Track cycling, track cyclist. She is the UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Women's 500 m Time Trial, 2009 500 m Time Trial World Champion and World Record holder at 33.296s, and the UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Women's Keirin, 2010 Keirin World Champion.
