The UCI Road World Championships are the annual world championships for bicycle road racing organized by the (UCI). Antonia Niedermaier
Antonia Niedermaier (born 20 February 2003) is a German cyclist and ski mountaineer. She rides for UCI Women's World Tour team . Niedermaier won a stage of the 2023 Giro Donne, and competed at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics. Early life Niedermaier was born in Rosenheim, Bavaria, Germany. She later lived in Bad Aibling and Bruckmühl. At the age of 15, she started mountain running, but gave up the sport in 2019 due to injury. Ski mountaineering career Niedermaier started ski mountaineering in 2019. That year, she finished third at the Junior World Championships, her first major event. She competed at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics, finishing sixth in the individual event and 17th in the sprint competition. She was part of the German team that finished third in the mixed relay. 2024 UCI Road World Championships
The 2024 UCI Road World Championships was the 97th edition of the UCI Road World Championships, the annual world championships for road bicycle racing. It was held between 22 and 29 September 2024 in Zürich, Switzerland, alongside the 2024 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships, UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships. A total of thirteen events were held, consisting of six road races, six individual time trials and a team time trial mixed relay (all of them finishing in Zürich in front of Sechseläutenplatz). The event was overshadowed by a fatality in competition, as 18-year-old Swiss rider Muriel Furrer died from injuries sustained in a race crash during the junior women's road race. The event was continued at the express request of Muriel Furrer's parents and family, with a series of tributes and memorials. Julie De Wilde (born 8 December 2002) is a Belgian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's World Team in road cycling, and in cyclo-cross for UCI Cyclo-cross team IKO–Crelan. Turning professional in 2019, she joined the Doltcini - NM Transport team. Later that year, she won the Belgian junior time trial title, before finishing 2nd at the 2019 UCI World Championships - Junior women's road race in Yorkshire, and placing 5th at the 2019 European Road Championships. Despite a disrupted 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she won the Belgian National junior Cyclo-cross Championship. The 2023 UCI Road World Championships were the 96th edition of the UCI Road World Championships, the annual world championships for road bicycle racing. There were held between 5 and 13 August 2023 in Scotland, as part of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships.
