UAAP Season 75 Basketball Tournaments
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 75 basketball tournaments are the basketball events of UAAP's 2012–13 season. National University is the host this season. The opening ceremony was held on July 14, 2012, followed by doubleheader basketball games after the ceremonies at the Mall of Asia Arena. The UAAP named former San Beda Red Cubs head coach Ato Badolato as commissioner for basketball. Badolato also served as basketball commissioner for UAAP Season 73. Men's tournament Teams Coaching changes Following the resignation of head coach Dindo Pumaren last September, the De La Salle Green Archers have tapped Gee Abanilla as his replacement. Abanilla previously served as assistant coach for La Salle under former head coach Franz Pumaren and for the Petron Blaze Boosters prior to accepting the head coaching job. UAAP Season 73 Basketball Tournaments
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 73 basketball tournaments are the basketball events of UAAP's 2010–11 season. The basketball season began on July 10, 2010 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City with an opening ceremony hosted by De La Salle University, followed by a couple of men's basketball games. Hosts De La Salle Green Archers defeated the UP Fighting Maroons, and the UST Growling Tigers defeated the UE Red Warriors in the last game of the day. NU Bulldogs Basketball
The NU Bulldogs are the collegiate men's basketball team of the National University (NU), which play in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the premiere sports league in the country. History In the early years of the UAAP, the NU Bulldogs were a competitive team in the league, winning a title in 1954. The Bulldogs were coached by Skip Guinto, who was approached by the Jhocsons, owners of NU, to coach their team. The Bulldogs relied on Antonio Villamor to defeat the FEU Tamaraws to win their first title. The Bulldogs then produced players such as Narciso Bernardo and Jun Papa, but never came close to a repeat Finals appearance, until Reynaldo Sigua was acquired by NU. Bert Flores
Bert Flores (born October 27, 1968) is a Filipino coach who serves as an assistant coach of the FEU Tamaraws. Career Flores served as manager of the FEU Tamaraws' basketball team until 2005, when he was appointed as head coach. He steered the Tamaraws to win the championship that year with a Finals revenge against La Salle. After a dismal performance, he focused on being the manager, consultant and assistant coach until 2010, when he was reappointed again and steered the Tamaraws to a finals appearance, and served until 2013. After his men's basketball team stint, Flores served as athletic coordinator, overseeing the women's volleyball while coaching the women's basketball team. He coached the women's team until 2024. FEU Tamaraws Basketball
FEU Tamaraws are the collegiate basketball varsity team of the Far Eastern University (FEU). FEU currently holds the record of winning the most number of championships (20 championships) in the men's basketball division of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. FEU also appeared in the Philippine Collegiate Championship finals four times, and was able to win back to back championships in 2004 and 2005. Gelacio "Gee" Abanilla is a Filipino basketball player, coach, and executive who currently serving as the Team Manager for the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The De La Salle Green Archers are the collegiate men's basketball team of De La Salle University, which play in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), the premiere sports league in the country.
