The UAAP Cheerdance Competition is an annual one-day event organized by the University Athletic Association of the Philippines The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), established in 1938, is an athletic association of eight Metro Manila universities in the Philippines. Before the announcement of the winners and after all squads have performed, a recap is shown during the telecast. Only the top three teams are announced at the end of the competition. UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe
The UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe (or simply ''Salinggawi'' or ''SDT''), is the University-wide organization for dance and the official dance troupe of the University of Santo Tomas (UST). The group is known for its versatility covering wide array of genre from performing arts to cheerleading, from contemporary to breakdancing. The Salinggawi Dance Troupe is also the official cheerdance team along with the official pep squad and drumline - the U.S.T. Yellow Jackets of the University of Santo Tomas. UAAP Season 76 is the 2013–2014 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. It was hosted by Adamson University with Fr. Maximino D. Rendon, C.M. as president. There were eight universities that competed in fifteen sports with poomsae, a form in the sport of taekwondo now recognized as a regular sport and included in the general championship tally. Some of the sporting events were aired live or on a delayed telecast by ABS-CBN Channel 2 and Studio 23. All the men's basketball games and the women's volleyball games were aired live by ABS-CBN Sports, the former for the fourteenth consecutive year and the latter since Season 69. UAAP Season 75
UAAP Season 75 was the 2012–2013 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. The season's theme was "Unbreakable at 75" in relation to the league's diamond year. It was hosted by National University. The men's basketball and the women's volleyball tournaments have been aired by ABS-CBN Channel 2 and Studio 23, the former for the thirteenth consecutive year and the latter since Season 69. This season, the men's football and women's softball both became a seven-school tournament. National University made a comeback in these two events. NU was participating in these two events in the 1940s up to the 1950s. NU also fielded for the first time men's and women's teams in Taekwondo to also make these events a seven-school tournament.
